Dead Pixels and Dust Under Screen

Now 2 months into my first Mac and my 27" iMac has a dead pixel (black) just right of center. I'm about to call Apple Care in hopes of some sort of resolution, but after reading this threat I'm not that hopeful. I've had the flicker screen and the blackout issue in the first month, but the update seems to have fixed that as it has only occurred once since then. I'm just disappointed in this happening to my first mac, but then again, I guess I would be if it was my tenth Mac too.
