Looks like I have a dead usb, I never really noticed it before, but in a sense I must have. I always thought the one usb near the power cord was "higher" powered so I plugged in my usb hub into that and ignored the second one. It wasn't until I was prepping the laptop for a potential sale did I realize it was dead.
Since I'm only seeing one usb port showing up in the image (other then the ones that account for, I suspect its a hardware issue.
Its a 2008 unibody MBP that's been very good, except for this one problem. If I send it into apple for repair, will they replace the logic board or give me a refurb unit.
Personally, I've lived with this issue long enough and not really impacted me, I've very tempted to live with it longer, since I'll not sell it.
