Deadspot - iPhone 3G

My iPhone 3G recently gained a dead-spot on the screen that stretches across the 2nd and 3rd icon row...

The phone is out of warranty so i just need some advice on what i should do/replace. Digitizer?

are you talking by touch or sight? if touch yes you need a new digitizer if you are talking about you cant see then it would be your lcd.
