The rebate is through SanDisk, it's just finding an approved retailer with a good price.

It's a bad idea in general to base any purchase decision based on how much the item costs after mail in rebate. If you're not willing to buy the item for the price before the mail in rebate, then you shouldn't risk them denying the rebate for whatever reason. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I've had TONS of mail-in rebates get denied for all kinds of reasons. A couple of them were over a hundred dollars. For example, they will claim that I never sent in the original UPC and that the claim will be denied if I don't send it in. The problem is that I already sent them the original UPC and it's my word against theirs, and they will always win. Furthermore, I found this somewhat troubling condition in the fine print: "SanDisk reserves the right to cancel, amend, or revoke this offer at any time due to reasonable business considerations." What the f*** is a "reasonable business consideration"? Does that mean they can say "oops, this rebate will cost us too much money, so we can't honor it"? Because that's what it sounds like to me. Finally, the rebate is in the form of a Visa prepaid card. Those credit-card branded cards almost always have activation fees, monthly maintenance fees, transaction fees, and a load of other fees that serve to greatly reduce the actual amount of the card you can spend. All I'm saying is, be careful.

I've gotten the rebate from Adorama/Sandisk so I can vouch for the rebate coming back at least. It came back as a $40 Visa debit card the last rebate I got.

I'm guessing that because Amazon.com is NOT on the reseller list, the rebates would not apply as the OP originally wrote.

Your buying them from Adorama through Amazon. Not from Amazon

That's the key, they are sold and shipped by Adorama, so your receipt will show Adorama.

B & H has this going on too. I ordered 3 today. However, there was a $4.95 shipping fee. Either way, great deal and you can never have to many cards on hand. Great for back ups. :D

Lexar has a similar deal on right now…*ordered 3 8gb Pro 133x CF cards through B&H for a whopping $7/ea (after shipping). Also, the Lexar deal doesn't have a ratcheting policy (i.e. you get the same rebate per card regardless of quantity), but they do cap the rebate at 3 cards per household.

Edit: oops, looks like the card is discontinued.

I'm hoping that the rebate goes through… it'll be $240 down the drain if it doesn't.
