Same people blow money on multiple streaming services. Yet you could have a suite with a ton of horsepower for about the same. I don't buy the subscription model rage.
Sure, but it’s not like you pay for a streaming service so you can watch the same movie over and over. Most people would want to purchase a copy if that was the case. Similarly, people are unhappy because Adobe essentially offers the same thing year after year while asking customers to pay repeatedly when it was pretty clear their older single-purchase option was already a sustainable business model.

Well, it's good that Affinity exists. I said goodbye to Photoshop and Adobe's pricing model a long time ago.

MacRumors is an affiliate partner with Adobe
I'm a daily enthusiastic user of the Affinity Suite

- Affinity Photo
- Affinity Designer
- Affinity Publisher

I'm aware that people who are used to working with Photoshop cannot or do not want to work in any other way. This is quite similar with PC users.

Everyone has their toys, but Adobe has an unusually lousy pricing policy that translates into fewer new customers, so now we watch their desperate attempt to retain young people. A chocolate in addition might work. For the very young and inexperienced. Good luck

;)
I really tried to get into the Affinity Suite but maybe I have just been using Adobe to long. I find myself getting frustrated and going back to Adobe.

They really should take a leaf out of the book of 3D modelling software companies. Offer a free tier for students.
Once you've got them hooked in then… well then the gloves come off.
Same approach was used by $A$/Stat software company for years. They gave it away free for use by students and then jacked up employers to pay out the wazoo for super expensive licenses.

Maybe a decade or so ago, the free R Project proliferated and finally got the shylocking tactics of SAS to change a bit.

Yep, that's kinda hurdle that also holds off PC users from switching to the Mac.
If they only have a few seconds to try it out, they won't be able to see the advantages.
The switch is like a spring clean in the mind.

Affinitixy provides good video tutorials to help. You can find them here.

(I am not an employee of Affinitiy nor receive money, I am just an enthusiast).
