Amazon today introduced a deal on Apple's AirPods 2, available for $89.99, down from $129.00. There's currently a slight shipping delay for the headphones, with the delivery date estimated for early December.

This price is just about $10 off from the previous all-time low price on the AirPods 2, but this is still a solid second-best option on the AirPods 2 that you can lock in today for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. As of now, only Amazon is offering this steep of a discount.

We're keeping track of all of the season's best Apple-related deals in our Black Friday roundup, so be sure to check back throughout the month for an updated list of all the most notable discounts you'll find for Black Friday 2022.

Still rocking these (with wireless case) because the broader gesture tap controls work way better when biking (esp with gloves) than the more precise squeeze controls on the Pros / 3s.

Am debating getting these 2nd Gen AirPods vs Pros.

Which would you recommend for someone who jogs a few miles everyday?

I recently read a Vice article about how bad they are for the environment. In two years they stop working and the rare earth materials needed to make them seems like bad way to treat the planet.

To me these are still the best AirPods because they fit my ear shape absolutely perfectly. I could wear them all day with zero discomfort nor any chance of them falling out.

Unless one lives like a monk, then getting rid of some tiny AirPods every few years is probably not even in the top 50 ways our lifestyle is polluting.

Costco has this price now as well and they also have the 3rd Generation Lightning Case ones for $139, which is the cheapest I've seen for those.

Honestly, I'd say buy both and test them out to see which fit (and stay in) the best while running/walking, and to see if there's an ear tip from the Pros that won't cause a "thump" noise with each step (the technical term seems to be bone conduction) in case you suffer from that like I (and others) do.

Since I can't really do sealed/in-ear earbuds like the AirPods Pro because of that thumping noise when running and because the AirPods don't seem to stay in as well I just stick to the EarPods. Since they're wired I don't have the worry of losing a bud if one falls out.

I just used the Swap Club two weeks ago to swap my 1st gen for a refurbished pair of 1st gen for $60. Worked out great and now my batteries last more than 5 minutes! However, I’d probably have gotten these if I knew the price was gonna get that low!

After 2+ years my Raycon have stopped working. Very tempted by these. How good are they with sweat? I’d wear them at the gym.

These are the only AirPods that fit me without falling out all the time. Tried AirPods Pro and the AirPods 3, but those guys fall out if I even think about breathing or moving my head. I might just buy another pair to have/use when my current pair of AirPods 2 eventually dies off.

Do the microphones on your pair of AirPods 2 still work? I have a pair of Airpods 2. The speakers still work and they still get pretty good battery life, however the microphones both slowly went fuzzy and then died. I searched online and found it to be a very frequently-reported issue, to the point that it seemed like a design defect/flaw. I bought another pair of Airpods 2 and the microphones on that pair died with the first thirty days, so I just returned that pair and went back to my first pair.

The mic no longer works on the right AirPod from the pair of AirPods 2 I bought at the beginning of 2020. Stopped working maybe after a year. So far so good w/ my second pair though.

Sweet deal on the ONLY AirPods that matter!! The ONLY AirPods that still have TAP CONTROLS! . AKA the ONLY Controls that actually function with gloves, mittens, hats, hoodies, helmets, a thermos in your hand, all the above! The loss of tap controls (on AirPods3 and AirPodPro) were the biggest Apple Tech Fail since the round mouse!

I'd say it depends if you like in-ear headphones or not, I personally have never liked the silicone ear canal tips, so I always preferred the non-pro airpods.

As for the gesture controls, for running, I honestly think the squeeze controls of the pros probably aren't that bad. For me, riding a bike with a helmet on and trying to squeeze the tip of the Pros, especially with gloves on, was a massive pain in the ass compared to just bonking my ear twice to skip or replay a song.

100% agree, the squeeze controls were a horrible decision that I was sad to see carried from the Pros to the Airpods 3. The more active situation you are in, the broader a gesture you need. Trying to squeeze a little nub when going 20+MPH with a helmet and gloves on is a straight up hazard. It's the same reason touch screens in cars are more of a hazard than physical buttons/knobs.
