Apple's AirPods Max headphones have dropped to $449.99 in all colors on Amazon, down from $549.00. All models are in stock and ready to ship out today, except for Space Gray which has a shipping delay of about a week.

We've seen a few colors of the AirPods Max drop to $449 in 2022, but this is one of the first times where all color options have been discounted by $99. In comparison to previous discounts, this is the second-best Amazon price we've ever tracked on the AirPods Max.

AirPods Max feature Active Noise Cancellation technology and the same Transparency mode, Adaptive EQ, and spatial audio features that are in the AirPods Pro. For charging, the headphones come with a Smart Case made out of a soft material that puts AirPods Max in an ultra low-power state to preserve battery charge when not in use.

We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

Unless somebody can say otherwise, I’d say this is the steepest discount I’ve seen, especially since it’s offered on every color on Amazon.

This product is waiting for its "iPad 2 (2011) moment" where it gets a functional case, proper on and off button, and a $399 starting price to better compete with others in the market.
This is a ways off though? With new Pros coming and no supply chain rumors, maybe next year?

If anyone has these and HomePods, can you compare the sound characteristics? I've found I like the audio out of my paired HomePods significantly more than my Sonos speakers.

Do all better wireless headphones also have ports for the wired connection? To get lossless and Hi-res lossless I use the lightning to 3.5mm cord plugged into my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I got mine from Best Buy in Dec, when they had them for $450. But I had a $100 reward certificate from my work and so I paid $350+tax.
I'd like to get a pair, but I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger even at $450. I do enjoy my AirPods Pro, but get sick of having in-ear headphones on all the time. I'll probably cave.

Love the iPad 2 reference — totally on point. Maybe they can also make them a lot more attractive? This is subjective of course, but I think they are one of the ugliest apple products to date.
