Amazon today introduced some of the first discounts on the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE, providing up to $15 off select models.

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with Amazon. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Starting with the 40mm GPS Apple Watch Series 6, you can get this model in Silver Aluminum with a White Sport Band for $384.99, down from $399.00. Similarly, the Space Gray Aluminum model is on sale.

If you're looking for a cellular model, Amazon has the 40mm cellular Apple Watch Series 6 in Space Gray Aluminum with a Black Sport Band for $484.99, down from $499.00. You can get the same Apple Watch in 44mm for $514.99, down from $529.00.

Moving to the Apple Watch SE, you'll find the 44mm GPS model in Space Gray Aluminum at a slight discount of $299.99, down from $309.00.

For the cellular model, Amazon has the 40mm Gold Aluminum Case with a Plum Sport Loop for $319.99, down from $329.00.

Given the popularity of the new models and the introduction of their first discounts, shipping estimates for every Series 6 and SE are seeing lengthy waits of up to four weeks. If you purchase today at a discount, however, you can lock in the savings before they expire.

A few of the major carriers also have some early offers on Apple Watch Series 6 and SE. You can find all the details about those deals in our post, and be sure to visit our full Deals Roundup to shop for even more Apple-related products and accessories.

The watch face "faces" are a little too esoteric for me.

If that labels me as provincial, so be it. Kinda reminds me of the modern art that was so popular in the 70's when I was a child.

Historicalmly, apple was very strict with discounting. When they came out with the Apple Card, that offers a 3% discount on all apple purchases, the FTC required them to allow other authorized retailers to discount up to that discount at any time.

This would confuse me. It's ok, it's only 11. I don't have to be on Zoom till 1.

If only I had waited I could have saved $15.
Lol, one very good reason I went with Apple is that I got to choose my own band. It felt like it was worth paying the extra $15. Haha

The gold/pink 44mm Series 5 is a solid deal at $299.99 on Amazon. If you’re not picky about the color and already have a spare band.

Retailers have been discounting Apple products quicker for quite a while. Microcenter is a retailer notable for doing it. Your claim doesn't make sense because the retailers aren't competing against cashback on the Apple Card. Take this exact situation. If you use the AC to purchase the watches from Amazon, you get the discounted Amazon price AND the 3% cashback from the AC.

Got a source for that claim?
Edit: As was pointed out, you don't get 3% back from Amazon purchases. Immaterial to the point of the claim of FTC requirement.

That watch face creeps me out!!!!!!!! Who thought that was a good thing!
I dont get it either. What were they trying to acmplish here? what would encourage someone to actually use this as their daily driver? I put one on my watch for like 5 seconds just to see if it changed when i would raise my wrist. nope. its the same stupid head with dumb eyes for a clock

But, you don't get the 3% discount using the AC at Amazon.

Are the Solo Loops not coming to authorized retailers at all? Anyone seen them bundled anywhere?

So in retrospect, the $15.00 ‘savings’ is more like a tax deduction than it is an actual discount off the watch itself.

It is very strange and just.....odd looking. It’s like artwork that doesn’t make sense, it’s almost distracting. Of all the Apple watch faces, this is the most obscure one.

I'm still glad I went with BestBuy for the 6 months of Fitness+ (and I had $5 in rewards).

How do you get 3% off using Apple Card at Amazon? Same 3% discount as Walgreens and Apple products and services from APPLE directly, buying Apple Watch through Amazon? Point me to that would you?

I erred on the 3%. You only get the standard cash back. That ain't the point. My post was about refuting the claim that the FTC required Apple to allow it.

I don’t know about the FTC being the reason (some comments say that it could be immaterial) but damn right about the discounts going crazy abundant especially end of last year and this year.

Before it would be either refurbished, students Beats or similar headphones for back to school deals... and I think that’s it? Having deals on third party stores, right after product launches... unheard of for me, albeit this one being more like a gesture of a deal for now.

I’m quite curious about what has changed or what has happened either internally at Apple or regulations wise if it is indeed that.
