Apple sayeth thou does not need it: https://www.macrumors.com/2021/05/21/apple-tv-remote-no-find-my-explanation/

So sayeth the Apple ;)

But I'm pretty sure there is a case for that that can hold an AirTag if you want to override the Wisdom of the Almighty. Try an Amazon search for: apple tv remote case with airtag holder
Not sure I would go by Apple's claims on the remote.

In response to the Siri Remote 2 no longer being able to be used for games, Apple said that if people want to play games on the ATV, use a controller. But, there are plenty of games that were designed to be used with the sensors in the Original Siri Remote that cannot be played with a controller.

I personally dislike the Siri Remote 2, as it doesn't improve on much over the Siri Remote 1, all while losing functionality from the original. Why put the Siri Button on the side?

I also accidently swipe down with pressing the section button all the time. I am sure it is just user error, but just another issue with the newer remote.

On my 128GB ATV4K3, I swapped the original Siri Remote so I can still use it for games. I am not in love with it, but I actually think it is a better design.

I've pretty much never bothered with the Apple remotes. I have a universal learn remote setup with customized buttons to mimic those on the AppleTV remote(s) and I use it to control everything with one remote. One customizable button is programmed to be "setup" which then executes macros to do all the little things so that anyone can use anything (not just AppleTV) with this remote (without having to change inputs, etc and/or hope & pray CRC works right).

The one cost (to me) is Siri control but I guess I prefer traditional control (silence) of AV stuff. If I or a guest really wants Siri for some purpose, that remote is readily available from where it is stored.

While ridiculing the discount, that's not far from 10% off, which is substantial for Apple stuff not refurbed. And whether $140 or $150, it buys an entire Apple product NEW in box that is the "latest & greatest" version. Compared to the prior version offering, this is double the storage for 30% or $60 off. If this was iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc, we would be freaking out at 30% off with double storage.

I use AppleTVs every day. IMO, they are one of the very best things Apple sells. I considered them a rare Apple bargain at the old pricing. This new one is even better.

Once again, the Apple Card 3% Daily Cash on Apple purchases is proven the most worthless perk of Apple Card.

WAs the same price at Sam's Club for the past handful of days and still is for now.

Price match at Target and either get 5% off with redcard, or use gift cards purchased at 10% off the other day (or gained through the Black Friday Target GC bonus offer with Apple GC purchase).

Yeah I’m good. Picked up last years model for 89 bucks in the last sale.
