Not sure I would go by Apple's claims on the remote.

In response to the Siri Remote 2 no longer being able to be used for games, Apple said that if people want to play games on the ATV, use a controller. But, there are plenty of games that were designed to be used with the sensors in the Original Siri Remote that cannot be played with a controller.

I personally dislike the Siri Remote 2, as it doesn't improve on much over the Siri Remote 1, all while losing functionality from the original. Why put the Siri Button on the side?

I also accidently swipe down with pressing the section button all the time. I am sure it is just user error, but just another issue with the newer remote.

On my 128GB ATV4K3, I swapped the original Siri Remote so I can still use it for games. I am not in love with it, but I actually think it is a better design.
I agree. 1st gen remote has gyro and accelerometer. I wish I could register two remotes in a 3rd gen 4K TV.

I still find my $30 Google TV stick with Google Assistant 100x better for voice searches across all apps. Fix Siri.
You'd have to use voice searches because the Android TV UI is just too painful to navigate. The Apple TV UI is much better for navigation.

YTTV is really good at curating content that I would watch so it's usually front and center and not much navigating is necessary. 90% of what I watch is recorded so again no navigating is necessary. Also Google Assistant works just like on the phone and I search for anything on the internet and get accurate results, unlike Siri.

The only thing I would be jealous of is the live tiles that they do have for the Chromebook/Android and iOS Apps but not the Android TV app. I think it's just a matter of time before they implement it into the Android TV app. I will admit the iPhone remote works better with Android TV than the Google Home app remote, maybe I'm doing something wrong but I'm happy with the Android TV stick as a YTTV customer.

If I was to move away from YTTV I might think about an ATV. :) but for now, I'll enjoy the savings.
