By far the best value in Apple's lineup - it's a lot of computer for $599. Same chip as the $1,500 iMac, $1,299.00 MBP, $1,249.00 MBA, and $1,099 iPad Pro.
It is a good deal if you will use the mini headless as I do. I remote in with my iPad Pro or M1 MBA. Otherwise, the actual price is much higher, unless one already has the necessary peripherals.

I agree, but by the time you add peripherals, it’s more expensive than the Air which has the flexibility of being portable.
These days a 4K monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, and a webcam/speaker/mic combo can be found for under $350 total. Still $300 less than a MBA with 8-core gpu. And you’ll need to buy a dongle for the MBA to get the same ports as the mini. MBA is a great portable, but not everyone needs to move their computer.

I think it's a great deal too. Plus, much better cooling than a MBA and no battery issues. It will last you longer and run better if doing intensive tasks.
