Heh, don’t forget that Apple used to make a 17in Pro!
I have one. The original model. I bought it new when it came out.

It still works.

And the screen size is wonderful, if it's the only screen one has. Which was true for me, and I hauled it around Japan for 3 years. Glad I bought it when I did.

Amazon knows something we don't and it smells like M3 rev is coming this October.

Nah. People buying a $1000+ laptop aren't going to settle for 8gb or 256gb storage so nobody buys them and Apple/Amazon have to discount them to get them to move at all.

Notice that the good configurations (16gb/512/1tB) never ever go on sale.

You might actually be surprised. The users needing the higher configs tend to be very tech savvy. When I bought my 202 M1 MBP, I settled for the base model, but upped the storage to 512. I weighed the Pro's and Con's knowing I wasn't gonna messing with VMs and anything needing lots of RAM. Its been more than enough for my needs.

It doesn't sit well with me that Apple charges $200 for 256GB of additional storage in 2023. Or $200 for 8GB of RAM in 2023. These capacities are way too low to start in a device that is normally $1299. Hopefully that changes with the M3 but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Why people hyping these m chips laptops aren’t worth it in value if the ram or storage aren’t keeping up with the rest of the market with pricing.
