Amazon has knocked the price of the new M2 MacBook Pro (512GB) down to $1,299.00, from $1,499.00. This sale price is available in both Silver and Space Gray color options.

At $200 off, this is an all-time low price on the 512GB M2 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple just updated this notebook in June, offering various internal improvements over the previous generation with the same aluminum body design.

The 256GB M2 MacBook Pro is also being discounted this week on Amazon, available for $1,149.00, down from $1,299.00. Both computers are in stock today and have estimated delivery dates between September 9 and 11.

If you're on the hunt for deals on the 2021 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, check out our deal post from last week highlighting $400 off markdowns on these notebooks.

The touchbar is so subjectively good that Apple chose to drop it...
Well, 3D Touch was good (even no annoyances for people that chose not to use it, unlike the Touch Bar) and apple drop it too. I still use a MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar and im a bit frustrated that the only mbpro with Touch Bar is the one not receiving the screen and design updates.

Posted in the iPad thread earlier, but Costco has the base 14” MBP M1 on sale for $1599.99 and the base 16” for $2099.99.

Plus you get another 4% rebate with Executive membership and your Costco credit card. Not to mention 2-4 years standard warranty. (No BTO options though, always my biggest hang up).

Seems like they're clearing out the inventory before this model gets dropped.

Performance-wise, it seems to come down whether you want a fan or fanless.
Agreed - the whole reason it even still existed smelled of existing contractual obligations and/or milking every last dollar out of whatever interchangeable parts they still had left on the shelf for this 6+ year old device.

Not that it is inherently a bad machine, but seems like very little reason one would choose this over the M2 air or 14 in MacBook Pro.

Oh no it’s the one-external-display Macbook Pro.
I cycle to work and the 14” is a tad large and heavy. I would get the 13” at that price if it could connect to multiple displays.
