14-Inch

The best deal this week on the 14-inch MacBook Pro can be found on the 12-core M2 Pro/1TB model at Amazon, priced at $2,199.00, down from $2,499.00. This is the cheapest we've ever seen this model, and it has an estimated delivery date of August 14 through the 21.

Amazon also has the 10-core M2 Pro/512GB model for $1,749.99, down from $1,999.00, but there is a shipping caveat for this notebook. Both colors are delayed into September as of writing, with the earliest delivery date set for September 8.

This is an all-time low price, so if you've been waiting for a discount, and don't mind waiting a little bit longer, it could be a good idea to lock in this deal today. Right now, only Amazon has the sale.

16-Inch

Moving to the larger notebooks, Amazon has the 12-core M2 Pro/512GB 16-inch MacBook Pro for $2,249.00 in both colors, down from $2,499.00. This one is also facing dwindling stock, so be sure to place your order soon if you're interested. B&H Photo is matching this deal, which is an all-time low price.

Lastly, the 12-core M2 Pro/1TB 16-inch MacBook Pro is on sale for $2,449.00, down from $2,699.00. This one is only available in Silver and Amazon has an estimated delivery date of August 16. B&H Photo is matching this deal, which is a record low price.

Pretty good deal for this configuration. I haven't seen the 1TB models get discounted quite as often as the 512GB models do.

Those look like good deals to me!

If you live in Texas and could maybe try to get a price match at a Best Buy or Costco, it’s tax holiday weekend starting tomorrow for an extra discount close to another ~$200.
And then if you get a new best buy credit card the first buy is 10% discount if I remember right.
Or Costco with the usual extra perks added that some around here are more acquainted with (like free apple care I have read 😮)

Considering Apple NEVER sells anything at a discount, one has to wonder how companies like Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Adorama, etc., can sell these at such a discount? Is their profit margin so high that even knocking $300 off, they still make a decent profit or is Apple selling to them at a much higher discount than normal?

I think these deals are pretty good but the only downside is it’s usually only applied to the base models. (Says the guy that didn’t read the article, but also almost never an option to upgrade the RAM)

That's what's cool about this one - it's the 12 core/1TB version, so it's very tempting. My only issue is that I'd *really* like to have 32GB, but damn.

Tech companies ain't hiring. Work from home is slightly being rolled back. The college kids have absolutely no need for the MacBook Pro because the M1 and M2 MacBook Airs are more power than they need to write their papers and take notes. The demand for these products is decreasing. It is as simple as that. Doesn't really matter how good they are.

I just bought a 2021 16" MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16GB/1TB for $1,899 plus tax from B&H. It is being delivered tomorrow.

This will be a much needed upgrade from my Mid-2014 13" MacBook Pro i5 16GB/512MB. I really wanted the 2023 16" MacBook Pro M2 Max, but I could not justify the price difference especially now since the M3s Pro/Max line will be out in 2024.

I needed a good 16" MacBook Pro and this deal was just too good to pass up.
