The problem with this thing is it's way too small. I usually get deliveries every day, and less than half would fit in this.

So, this thing is like... personal parcel locker? Are there no public ones in the States?

What in particular made them "junk"? I have their wireless outdoor cameras and they've worked great. What is the issue is Apple's horrible Home Kit. Using Eufy's own app and they're great.

Their AI is terrible. Doorbell (wired) camera was so hit or miss, I just turned off notifications. Same with the 2K cameras. Ditched them all and went with the Logitech Circle View doorbell and it's been AMAZING! Actual, real alerts of animals, people, cars, groups of people, named people, packages, etc. Eufy can't hold a candle to that. Same with the internal cams. Rock solid. Eufy as a company is just terrible. Go look at their forums. To each their own. I tried them for a couple years, never again.

My very obvious point is that if you "need" this item you might want to reconsider where you live as you probably have more to worry about than the "safety" of your packages. Furthermore if you have the disposable income for this rather limited toy its my guess you could afford a better neighborhood. Not possible for everyone I acknowledge and YMMV but I'll stick by my "odd take".

Your point isn't very well thought out. Not many people need to order things online. But not everyone can be home at all times. I use it while I'm at work ALL THE TIME. I even have one at my office. Why? Because I'm not there, all the time. Do we need constant interruptions with our staff opening the door for packages? Nope! Do the couriers come during lunch and after hours? YEP. Your point of spending $200 vs buying an entire new house is ridiculous. Thieves like to rob nice neighborhoods. $200 is nothing for my time and efficiency.

Wow, some folks really got butthurt over this.

First off, I never said "take your $200 and buy a new house" please re-read my original comment. Better yet please quote where I said that. I was implying that if one can buy this and use it they probably have the means to be somewhere it isn't needed. Those are very different statements.

Seems to me that if you need one of these and can afford one of these then you have the means to move somewhere where these are not needed.

Did I include "the fine print" to completely define my thoughts.... no. It was a flippant, off-hand comment. Some folks liked it, some didn't.

I have gone on to list my issues with the product and how effective I feel it is against package theft as well as questioning if it can truly be useful in/for areas where it might be needed such as apartments or rentals.

I have also said, multiple times, YMMV, if this product works in any capacity for you then congrats! See below:

Again, YMMV, if this works for you have a blast but it is my feeling that if I lived in an area where I "needed" this item I would try desperately to move somewhere safer. If elements in that neighborhood are comfortable with open, brazen theft from your front porch then assault or worse is not far behind.

tl;dr:

You of course are entitled to your opinion but this effort to try can twist my original post into a "gotcha" moment claiming I said "if you have $200 then buy a new house" is disingenuous.

Cool, I am looking to change them out as their batteries are starting to get bad. I'll look at logitech's offerings.
