Amazon has further discounted the 32GB Apple TV 4K this week, now available for $119.99, down from $179.00. This is just about $10 higher than the all-time low price on the Apple TV 4K that we tracked during Prime Day.

Delivery estimates for the Apple TV 4K right now on Amazon are slightly delayed, with the current free Prime delivery option set for August 14. Although this is a few weeks away, you can lock in the deal price today to guarantee the sale ahead of the delivery date in August.

There are too many discounts on this even from Apple (gift cards), so I have a feeling they are clearing up inventory… also apparently some of them aren’t going to be Thread/Matter compatible. Not sure it matters …

Why would anyone ever purchase the larger RAM AppleTV? It's a streaming device.
They both have the same RAM. If you're talking about storage, some people may want to download movies to their device and take it with them. They may want to have a few movies on backup in case the internet goes down? Could be several reasons.

Jump in now and cry after several months when Apple release a new 6th gen AppleTV ???
The rumors I've seen I feel like are talking about a lower cost device. Might not have Dolby stuff on it, maybe an older chip?

It is the reason for the lower price. If you want the latest and greatest when it is released, you'll have to pay more for it. And I'd assume anyone that wants the latest and greatest, already owns it and this deal isn't for them really.

It's not RAM it's storage space. Some people do actually use it for games, and to locally download movies to watch offline. It's not for most people but it's not completely unreasonable.

To store the many games people are paying $4.99 a month for on Apple Arcade? If Apple were a little more serious about gaming they'd release a version with more storage than 64GB. My 32GB version is always completely full.

I jumped on the Prime Day price of 109. I know they're dumping inventory for new models, but I can't imagine any upgrade that would be work the higher price.

Yes, Apple TV 4K is better than Roku 4K and Fire TV 4K. I've had them all and went back to Apple TV 4K.
I asked why, not should I. I have a Roku stick so what would I get with an Apple TV that my much cheaper Roku stick already providess?

Wow! Bite my head off.

I've always thought the picture quality and playback controls of Apple TV have always been superior. Plus. the 4K upgrades you get for your already purchased content are great. I can also build stuff to mine. Like on one AppleTV in my house I build the Provenance emulator to place old school games.

Also, I SharePlay to my Apple TV when watching with friends.

So...it has nothing my Roku Stick doesn't have. Got it.

Got all the sticks etc. and I like the Apple TV most by far.

Gigabit ethernet, fast and direct UI, automatic best options etc.

A stick version might be more successful due to cost though.

Why should I buy one when I have a Roku stick?
I have two Roku Ultra boxes, and I think they're superior in terms of stability, performance and UI compared to the lone ATV HD/4th gen box that I have. The Roku remote also is much more user-friendly than the touchy AF Apple one.

ATV isn't bad. It just isn't worth the price premium over Roku, especially when you typically can get an Ultra for half price on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
