My
Why would anyone ever purchase the larger RAM AppleTV? It's a streaming device.
When streaming my Plex files, the library plays with a lot less hiccups.
Made a huge difference when I upgraded to this new box.

So...it has nothing my Roku Stick doesn't have. Got it.
I like having the ability to seamlessly connect the Audio to my HomePod as the main source , or connect my Bluetooth headphones for late night watching.

Works great with other Apple speakers/headphones.

Agree. I just bought a new TV--it does AirPlay and has the Apple TV app. I have an Xbox with all the streaming services. What is the point of this over-priced product, given the options?
Not all TVs/apps/sticks with Apple TV functionality include Dolby Vision/4K.

Apple TV is probably quieter on the fans than the Xbox but likely not for you given your current situation.

I have two Roku Ultra boxes, and I think they're superior in terms of stability, performance and UI compared to the lone ATV HD/4th gen box that I have. The Roku remote also is much more user-friendly than the touchy AF Apple one.

ATV isn't bad. It just isn't worth the price premium over Roku, especially when you typically can get an Ultra for half price on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Lots of Roku sales reps on forum it seems 🤣

Lol, I’ve had several AppleTVs for years and I want to love AppleTV, but my personal experience with it is not very positive. I will proudly call myself a Roku sales rep. AppleTV is an okay product, but in my experience, with a large digital library, AppleTV is slooooow to browse and load movies. I have gigabit internet, directly connected to the box. I can pull up a movie or TV show in my Apple library quicker on a Roku devices than my AppleTV 4K (and sometimes my phone as well).
The UI on some streaming channels varies on the devices as well and I much prefer most channels on Roku over Apple. I do think Apple has better picture and sound quality, but to my 40+ year old eyes and ears, it’s a very slight difference.
Apple’s finicky/touchy remotes are just garbage and using my phone or watch as a remote (especially with more than one AppleTV) is a frustrating experience to say the least. Also, if my kids lose a remote, it’s a $10 replacement on a Roku. AppleTV is a lot more than that, very easily lost, and (mine) are stupidly made of glass. One shattered from a 12 inch fall onto a tile floor, rendering it useless. I do have some issues with Roku and privacy, but I’m not sure what they glean from my viewing history other than what movies and TV shows my family watches.
Apple’s “up next” feature is absolutely useless when you have a family. I admit it’s been awhile since I last checked, but personal profiles were worthless as my kids can easily see adult rated films and TV shows and what I’m about to watch next. On a Roku, I set-up child accounts on the few channels we most often use and I haven’t run into any issues.
I do like the UI on AppleTV for movies and extras, but when I want to watch a movie, it’s so much quicker to find and load on Roku that it’s not usually worth it. Hopefully Apple can iron out those things when they decide to get serious with AppleTV.

Bought one during prime day for $109.99 as I can’t see there are much room for improvement it can have, or that my tv can support..
