Still can’t believe the new remote doesn’t support Find My services.

Apple is such a pain in the ass.

I’ve been wanting to get the new Siri Remote for my Apple TV 4K.

But at that price I could just get this set with the remote and also a nice door stopper.

you’d be paying $65-$70 for a door stopper…

Apple marketing is cheering right now. “See! We told you there were customers like this!”

For me, it's the ads on the remote, screen savers, and menus. My media player should never be promoting content I don't already have access to. If I want content discovery I will go into the store.

I can pay off a hardware cost, but the ads never go away. Once you factor in the ads Roku's cost infinitely more than an Apple TV.
The ads have never felt extraordinarily intrusive to me. Is it the slickest UI, no. Does it get the job done, yes. Roku has a much larger market share than the Apple TV and I think the ads are more than acceptable in exchange for the variety of content and channels you can get at a much more reasonable price. I think it compliments my Apple TV quite well or should I say my Apple TV compliments my Roku quite well. Best of both worlds.

Sure and I’m happy for you. Although I not sure how you came to the conclusion the ads are unintrusive. I could never deal with ads when using it, ads when it’s paused, and ads when it’s off. But that’s just me, I just want to pay once for something i don’t want to subscribe to hardware.

Still not a good deal considering it’s using an A8 chip. This is still a device from 6 years ago…
If you’re just watching Netflix and HBO or whatever and don’t have a 4K this is fine.

This is an absolute rip off though. Drop the storage to 8GB so you can save some costs and just store video playback apps and sell it for $60.
