This is the question of the day. Ever since the introduction of the 4th Gen with A8 chip, tvOS has been supported on every model so far. But we are looking at A14 (according to rumors), then previous Gen (current right now) would be A12, then previous before that would be A10X (oddly, very close in performance to A12), and then even older than that, A8. And, it released in 2015. Seems like support for that could drop, yet Apple is currently still selling it.Not a bad price at all. I wonder how long Apple will continue to support this model. I still use mine in the bedroom.
I assume people are still buying it, I don't understand why, just get the 4k version and keep it for yearsDamn, misread this, assumed it was the 4K model. Why does the HD model even exist?
Snagged one for the pergola tv.This is the same as the 2017 model with the A8 processor. I just replaced it because of how laggy it is with the new TVOS and apps that use the new OS functions (picture in picture, etc). The 2nd Gen 4K model with the A12 released in 2021 was $109 yesterday on Amazon. I was able to get a Amazon Warehouse returned ( and seemingly unused ) model for $85, although they seem to be sold out at that price.
I think you meant to say 2015 model. This is the same as the 2017 model with the A8 processor. I
Thanks. Edited.I think you meant to say 2015 model.
