Interesting experiences, especially regarding the Apple titanium lugs.

Of the two bands I have (alpine loop and ocean loop) the alpine is definitely way more comfortable but the ocean one is visually more aesthetic by a lot.
I agree about the Alpine being very comfortable. I had bought the S8 with sport loop before returning it for the Ultra and the Alpine is way more comfortable than the sport loop.

I do like the way the ocean band looks but my main reason for wanting it is for ocean use LOL. I'm not sure how it would look on my wrist since they are on the smaller side. In this case it will be function over fashion.

I'm curious to know why you want a reason to buy the Ultra then.

For me, the primary reason I upgraded from my Series 4 was 1) for the battery life, and 2) for the additional Action button. While I enjoy the other features of the Ultra watch, I also don't care too much about them. The Action button for me was really the major upgrade. Yeah, it does seem silly to pay so much just for an extra button -- I admit to that.
Action Button, as well. I don't use the Watch beyond time keeping or quick check messages, because WatchOS is trying to be iOS SpringBoard and it needs to be iPod click wheel. Action Button solves that.

I bought the Ocean Loops for fashion, and the Alpine for comfort :) Boy, those are some expensive stuff -- $200 out for just 2 bands. And honestly, these aren't really like bands made of expensive material. Really kinda ridiculous. But there you have it. :)

I know this isn't a good financial management strategy, but I always go back to when I was younger and drinking out at bars.

Many a nights, I spent several hundred dollars buying drinks for myself and friends only to have those drinks pissed or puked out several later with nothing to show for it but a few laughs. :p

So if I was to drop $100 on a band that will last a year or two its still a much better investment than those bar outings. 🤣

@surfzen21 , I hear ya. I've made similar remarks as a joke to my spouse that all the beer he drinks is wasted as he just pees it all away. Not getting his money's worth. LOL.
