Amazon today is continuing to discount a few of Apple's keyboards for the iPad Pro and iPad Air, the highlight being the Magic Keyboard for 11-inch iPad Pro at $199.00, down from $299.00. This is still the lowest price that we've ever tracked for this Magic Keyboard, which can also be used with the fourth generation iPad Air.

You can also get the Magic Keyboard for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but this discount isn't quite as steep. It's priced at $329.00, down from $349.00. Both versions of the Magic Keyboard provide a full keyboard with a trackpad, backlit keys, and a new floating cantilever design that lets you adjust the iPad Pro to find the best viewing angle.

One would think the deals would signal a new Magic Keyboard coming, but that wouldn’t make sense as the iPad Air is compatible with the Magic Keyboard as well. At the cost, it’s not surprising the Magic Keyboards are not fast sellers, but it’s an amazing product.

I know many people knock these for price. I have owned many low to high end keyboards for iPad. I have to vouch for the Magic Keyboard. This definitely is the best iPad keyboard I have owned. Really excels above the rest and was worth every penny.
Completely agree. The iPad Pro 11" has become my new go to device as a result.

Can someone in the US ship this to me in Canada? :)

Come on Apple, give us a break here. It's still frickin' $399 CDN!

Get a mailbox service near the boarder. Ship everything there, and just go pick it up every few weeks. (after COVID please) There is literally a big business for this. What you need to be smart about here is the Canadian tax. Throw the box away and have everything you can wear, on you.

Certainly the best but it's hard to compare against a $12 keyboard (Aliexpress)

When the keyboard attachment is still more expensive than an entire chromebook device that’s arguably more useful.

Yeah, I know of services that ship to a nearby border and they handle the duties and ship it into Canada for local pickup.

But as you pointed out, the taxes (and currency conversion) will negate a lot of the savings. Plus the time and gas required to pickup.

I'd rather Apple just lower the price on Amazon.ca to the converted rate of $250 CDN...instead of the current $400.

Arguably more useful so long as everything you do can be contained in a web app.

But even then, there's always going to be a segment of the population that doesn't want either something as limited as a Chromebook or to be tied in with Google and all of this...

Maybe they are discounting this and not the 12.9" MK because the new iPad Pro will only be a 12.9" model and they want the 11" MK pricing to better fit in line with the $600 Air.

That or they have way too many of the 11" MKs. AT $300 might have been a slow seller for people with an Air or cheaper iPad Pro.

and maybe they are coming out with a new MK already.

Yeah but people buying this already have an iPad. They aren't buying this instead of a computer.

And a nice iPad is more useful to some people than a cheap Chromebook and much nicer.

I do think $300 was too much tho. Maybe why this has been $200 on Amazon for over a month.

I paid for the same price at Costco last month. Hope it’s compatible with the 2021 iPad Pro 11. Currently I’m using it with my 2020 IPP 11 which is eligible for return in late March. Wish the new IPP will be out by then.

$200 is completely perfect... for Apple pricing. I think I spent $185 on my last "smart cover", and this basically does everything that does w/ a trackpad, a better stand, backlit keys, and an extra charging port. I honestly wish they were both like $100 off as their normal prices. Then again, the Logitech version w/ trackpad is now out for both so I don't think there's as much pressure on Apple to chop these any further.

There are certain things in life that are absolutely certain...
Death, Taxes, and 12" accessories never going on sale.

This just tells us that the form factor of the 11" will be changing a little (to where this magic keyboard won't work) but that the 12.9" won't be changing enough to require a new keyboard.

I could certainly see an all-new updated MKB with a row of function/media keys to go along with the next 12.9 iPad Pro.

People are turned off by the price. It's like how the HomePod has insanely good sound but doesn't sell because of its terrible price. Apple is too confident with these crazy prices.

I got the Magic Keyboard 12.9 at $350 and yes the price is stupid but it's the best apple accessory I ever bought. AirPods Pro a close second.
