Well that didn't take long. Once again:

Guts of a Mac, but does a lot less than a Mac and is more expensive than a Mac

I'm gonna keep saying it until they either fix iPadOS so it has a reason to have the M series chips in the iPad, or FINALLY give us the ability to dualboot macOS like it's being rumored.
Doesn’t have cellular and doesn’t have a single pane of touch sensitive glass. 🤷🏻‍♂️

How's the multitasking on that iPad? How's the mouse control? How's the battery life? How's the headphone jack? Can you have multiple user accounts for guests? Or can you install whatever app you wanted without the need of the Apple App Store?
Wouldn’t know because I don’t confuse an iPad for a laptop and have both. Laptop sucks as a tablet replacement. iPad sucks as a laptop replacement. Most realize that, buy a Surface device that does both better than most, so they say😂

I am an animator/illustrator... There are a couple GOOD sculpting apps on iPad now, HOVER pencil is actually a killer feature for illustrators.

M2 is close to perfect for drawing, nothing out of Intel/android can touch the responsiveness. I am buying it instead of the M1 because of the hover pencil support.

SURE I could get a M1 Macbook Pro, but it doesn`t have a drawing screen so I would be looking at the very least at another 700$ for a good wacom.

Price. Yes, it is high. But an equivalent cintiq is more and is just a drawing screen. (4k Cintiq is more..)

Anyhow, it IS a more PRO iPad for illustration professionals. Get it or don`t. But if ur an artist, you need to look into hover pencil before you buy M1 version.

Great review from a professional:

I am happy it isn`t selling like hotcakes, means i´ll get mine in a couple days. AND more illustration professionals can get it with discounts.

If you have a crappy wacom tablet and are looking for something that draws really well, and can use it with your stationary/sidecar whatnot... This is starting to look better and better.

Temporarily lowering the price on iPads is NOT a reflection of how well or poorly they're selling... or that there is a new upgraded model soon to appear. For the past 6+ years, Apple has been pricing them to go periodically on sale.

Waiting time is ho

Surely, but it does reflect on availability and waiting time. Go and get if you are an artist I would say.

With there being no cellular Macbook version I feel a macbook without internet access would be pretty much useless for a lot of the places where I use my iPad

Gonna be honest: Who cares? Cellular models are awful. They cost a lot more, require a separate plan which adds onto the cost more, and not many people got cellular on their iPads.

Nor is there the immediate need for a cellular model Mac since you can just use a hotspot.
