This sale is a match of the best price we've ever seen on the M2 MacBook Air, and it's one of the few Apple notebooks on sale at a record low price and still available for Christmas delivery. Shipping windows estimate anywhere from December 13 to 23, depending on the color.

If you want to save even more money, and are okay with a previous generation model, Amazon has the 256GB M1 MacBook Air for $799.99, down from $999.00. This one is also available in all colors, and all three are available for Christmas delivery.

Its like there is a glut or something with all these deals? Was there an expectation that a lot of people would be working and learning from home in droves or something?

Surprise
is there only a discount on the base models?
Most Retailers (like BestBuy, Amazon, Costco etc that discount) typically only get the "standard" configs which for the MB Airs, 13" MBP, iMac and Mac mini are still sadly 8/256 and 8/512 after all these years.

If only these machines had 16 GB of ram. even at a higher price point. 8 GB is on the low side with 2023 around the corner.
$100 off on 16GB:

The M1 MBA is STILL the best bang-for-the-buck out there, hands down.

I got the M2 though, but just because I had the blow to money. ;)

Not if you have memory intensive apps in use, like photoshop. It lags.
It doesn't. I ran Photoshop on an 8gb M1 Air and it ran fine. No lag at all. I sold the Air and got a Pro and it still runs fine, just a little snappier.

With 2 browsers open, email client, Photoshop, Slack…switching between apps can take a couple seconds. If you intend to use the computer like I do cough up the extra couple hundred and get 16 gigs ram.

Anyone know how the contrast is on the M2 MBA? I'd love to stay on the Air but definitely still salivating over the blacks on the Pro line. (relative has one, I watch all my movies on there now) Is the M2 Air at all better compared to the gray blacks on my M1?
