Amazon today is offering the new M1 MacBook Pro for up to $100 off in both configurations, with a match of the lowest-ever price seen on the higher-end 512GB M1 MacBook Pro.

Starting with the 256GB 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro in Space Gray, you can get this model for $1,219.00, down from $1,299.00. This is just about $20 off from the lowest price we've ever seen for this model.

Next, there's the 512GB 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro for $1,399.00, down from $1,499.00, and it's available at this price in both colors. This model of the MacBook Pro has been on sale more consistently than the lower-end model, and this discount remains the best price that we've ever tracked for the 512GB version.

I wonder why these are so heavily discounted. Maybe Apple is due to announce the redesigned MBPs sooner than we think?

Plus Macs are also Apple's weakest performing product, might be trying to raise revenue.
New MBPs will likely be due just before the start of next school year, might see apple do a promotion with a free set of AirPods sometime in the summer.

They are not heavily discounted. $100 off is pretty standard. Costco has Mac mini for $100 off. Unfortunately, it is out of stock.

Well this is a lesson well learned. Just wait a few months. Thats exactly what I am going to do when the second generation M Series iMac is launched in 2022, just buy it in March of 2023.

Discounts on Apple laptops and ipads have been common for a long time at retailers.

$100 off of a $1400 laptop is only a ~7% discount.
