Is anyone buying these?

Uh, yeah. I have one for home and one for work. They're sort of inelegant to remove without a mount, though, so I use one of these:

Works perfectly! Always satisfying to feel the magnets grip the phone. I'm using this with the 20W charger, so it's really fast too and no need to use wires (ain't nobody got time for that . . . especially since I use a dust plug on my lightning port).

Was the Magsafe charger scratching the phone if it didn't have a case on, or was it just the case itself?

I want the one that also charges the watch but can’t until pop socket comes out with the MagSafe pop socket 😭

I hate wired charging myself. Lighting cables are finicky and prone to break, sooner or later. I bought a cheap wireless pad years ago, and it's lasted. I just throw my phone down at night--no fumbling with a cord in the dark.

I don't care about charging speed because I'm usually never in a hurry to use the phone when it's charging over night. If I need to plug it in at some point during the day, I do that.

My wife doesn't use a wireless charger, but our batteries have degraded at roughly the same pace.

I haven't used the Apple magsafe, but it seems like a good option for people who are looking to get a wireless option.

Saw a Belkin brand one at the Apple Authorized Store, they had glued it to a desk for a demo for people to use.

Wonder if it would work to 'glue' it to something & hang it on wall, like next to bed, & let the magnets hold it on wall - not take up nightstand space

sales must be off the roof

its very ironic that this technology was presented by Palm like over a decade ago, no one picked up on it and it does not seem to have improved much.

I think I’ll stick with charging via lightning because charging via MagSafe is slow like molasses!

Would be very interesting to know if people are and why.
I bought one and use with a stand. Much easier to pop the phone on a stand at night and to pull away in the morning when I wake up. It’s tidier than a dangling lightning cable. I think it’s a bit pointless without a stand as you’re still fiddling around/pulling the cable when plugging and unplugging it.

I may get one for my desk at work as I often have to hotspot when WiFi slow so battery drains. Would also be useful to see notifications if phone facing you.

I get that these seem expensive but Apple charges £20/$20 just for a lightning cable and £30/$30 for Apple Watch cable. Plus my iPhone is pretty much the only device I have which doesn’t use USB-C.

Does it charge as fast as plugging in lighting?
That depends, if you are using lightning to USB A, and the 5 watt adapter that used to be included in the iPhone box, then you're phone is charging at just that: five watts. However, with a lightning to USB C cable and a 20 watt power adapter, you can charge your phone at 20 watt, 4 times faster. Magsafe works at 15 watt, twice as fast as previous qi wireles charging on iPhones.
