I ordered a 2018 Mac Book Air from B&H because of the discount. Get an email right away with my receipt for my Apple Pay purchase. They charged the credit immediately. 5 Minutes later, another email - We regret to inform you that due to a system error the ordered merchandise is not in stock.
I call over the next few days and they cannot tell you at all when you can expect the item to be in stock and ship. Not tomorrow, next week, next month. Nothing. So I cancelled. Took 3 days to get the refund on the credit card. Discounts can be found elsewhere, for me I used the newly opened Apple Military / Veteran store.

Buyer beware with this vendor (B&H). I ordered a MBP on Cyber-Monday at $500 discount. They charged the credit card right away, plus extra for 1 day shipping. Great price, but they did not ship. When calling them, they just said they were very busy with the holidays and would not commit to any shipment date - only that they would do the best that they can. I Cancelled and they said to wait 5 business days for the credit (sure sounds like they are playing with the cash flow). AMEX reverted the charge for no shipment wight away. Same thing happened this year with a camera and an Apple Watch. Since I have been a customer for more than a decade I accepted the two prior times where glitches - not anymore. It is not the same professional business they used to be. I rather pay more and by Apple or Amazon with no aggravation. Buyer beware

I, on the other hand, have spent many thousands of dollars with B&H over the past 15 years or so - on Apple gear, cameras, and especially lenses - and have always had a good experience.

So did I, for years and years. I only noticed the deterioration starting in 2018. Three in a row... What was great customer service, unresponsive now. Perhaps competition is getting to them, perhaps the labor disputes that have been reported in the press. I hope they correct it - more competition is better..... Checked the consumer affairs site https://www.consumeraffairs.com/cameras/bh_photo.html - tons of similar experiences - something recent has gone wrong

Add me to the happy B&H customer group. I have seen several complaints though on these boards over the years. I just bought an iPad Pro 11” and keyboard. Arrived in 3 days as promised. I know you shouldn’t have to, but if you guys are worried about arrival time, maybe call B&H before purchase and make sure they indeed have stock?

Same. They did this with my Sony a7R III around this time last year. They said they couldn't find it. Said they were too busy to do anything about it even though I had just paid for a $3200 camera. Spent hours being sent around to different departments. Said they couldn't find it in the shipping system as having left the building. Didn't cancel because the preorders were sold out everywhere else. Eventually it turned up weeks late. I think they oversold their preorders even though I ordered within minutes of it becoming available and instead of saying it was sold out, they basically put us all on backorders without telling us. Either that or they're really incompetent losing cameras worth thousands. I had stopped shopping with them because of problems like these and for stupid reasons like their website actually closing for holidays about every week. I mean, why even close your website? The website is still online, so somebody has to be monitoring the site, right? So why can't the orders just go into the queue in the database if you give your employees vacations all the time? Doesn't make logical sense. Anyway, I only went with B&H because they had a Sandisk 64GB UHS-II 300MB/s SD card free with the camera. It was like a $150 memory card at the time. They seem desperate for customers. I think most people only order from there because there is no sales tax if you don't live in New York, but that should be changing soon after the supreme court ruling on internet sales tax. Hopefully I don't get banned for saying the word supreme court outside of PSRI but I felt it gave important context to what I'm saying. It's sad that I even have to write this.

Lots of places are like this - process the charge immediately. Refunds take two or three days. I think fair is fair and if there is no issue, they should refund as quickly as they charge you.

$579 wi-fi silver 64GB is showing back in stock now.

2 weeks ago B&H started the LTE 256GB at $749 and showing more on the way. Now the same 256GB LTE is back in stock at the same price.

B&H must have bought a literal truckload of leftover 2017 12.9 inch iPads.

So hopefully these ship without issue

Instead of treating it as an interest free loan
