256 GB… what a joke. All of my projects range in the 14-20 GB storage, I would need many external drives just to work on a regular week.

And no, the cloud is not an option, just a back up for me. Try going out to the field and waiting for files to download at 2G or 3G speeds, or no internet at all.
Watch out everyone, here comes King of Macs. 😁

Weird that you dont know about single, high capacity drives. I mean if one 4TB drive doesnt meet your needs no Mac laptop will.

I suppose that means the product announcement isn’t going to happen for another two weeks as there would be lots of orders returned otherwise.

Almost as if they're clearing stock to make space for a certain new laptop that'll hopefully have its event announced tomorrow ;)
Nah, if that were the case, the shipping dates on custom configs at the Apple Store would be pushed out to December like the 16-inch is. There's no Air update this year.

And it's merely on par with refurbished units from the Apple Refurb store.
I bought a base air in silver for my father in law at Best Buy back in March. Open box in excellent condition for just a hair north of $700 shipped. If you happen to live by the right Best Buy you can sometimes score one for even less but those best prices are usually not available for shipping. Mine had 2 battery cycles and looked brand new, had the box, and the charger and cable were still wrapped. Cheapest ones I’ve seen were listed for about $560 in satisfactory condition (many reports of these being pretty much brand new as well). They come and go quickly on their website so if you’re in the market for one it’s worth to check often. If you don’t like the condition (or anything else about it) you have two weeks to return.
For those looking for BTO configs, the apple refurb store often has those with a decent discount. They usually look and feel brand new and come with full warranty as well.

Thank you! I had no idea that Best Buy discounted some of their open box Macs so steeply! I've seen listings on their website for open box Macs in satisfactory condition, but just assumed that it was probably true to description so I wasn't even tempted.

Cosmetic scuffs and dings don't disturb me. I'm buying a tool, not jewelry.

Good point, really hoping that they announce the announcement today since this 2012 Asus laptop I've been using is pretty miserable
