Honestly they need both. If Apple wants anyone to take their gaming ambitions seriously, 512GB needs to be minimum storage.

I thought I would be fine with my M1 MacBook Pro base model, but after installing Parallels and Baldurs Gate 3, suddenly that free space line graph is looking awfully crowded.

MacBooks are different. Those are travel computers. Desktops ya can hook external NVMe SSDs too and keep them attached at all times so the machine isn’t crippled by its storage like it is with small ram
