Here was the larger size when they first were launched. I feel like the 38mm definitely fit better. This looked ever so slightly large IMO. I was always someone who would wear a watch, so the fashion aspect was important.
Too big!!

Welp, I have just about every other Apple device but never had an Apple Watch. This deal, coupled with my Target RedCard AND the 10% Veterans discount Target is giving to veterans for this Memorial Day weekend, brings my 40mm Apple Watch 5 to a grand total of $300, including tax and free delivery. Not a bad deal.

Great deal. But 40mm is too small. Apple should discontinue it. The minimum screen size for us to be able to read text and the UI better would be 44mm. Even then, they should bump up the screen size.

TL/DR: 44 is too small

I love all the self-centered sizing discussion, as if Apple had been struggling to sell watches this whole time because they got the sizes wrong.

I have a stainless steel series 0 and would love a new one but they've priced the steel+sapphire combination so far out of reach and I just can't settle for aluminum and glass.

I had the same, and broke down and got an aluminum, had it for about 3 weeks before I scratched the screen so bad I could barely see it. Upgraded to a series 5 stainless steel. It's way more expensive, but the series 0 lasted so long for me and it had crap processor in it, I'm hoping to go at least another 4-5 years without upgrading it.

I was in the same boat with series 0. However, after series 3 (starting series 4) thethickness of the watch and rounded edges allowed me to jump up to the 44. it just sits on the wrist better than the first design did.

I have medium wrists but generally prefer smaller watches. I was certain I would want the 40, but I’m sure glad I went to a store to try the new ones on first. Ymmv

This finally won me over and I bought a S5 to replace my S3. I went from 42mm to 40mm. The screen real estate seems somehow larger, in spite of the watch getting smaller.

I am very happy with it. I love how more complications fit on the home screen. I'm never an early Apple adopter. I like the sales when they're getting toward a new product.

Our household has 3 Apple Watches - 2 men, 1 woman. All of us have the 40mm -it is simply cheaper, easier to swap screen protectors/cases/bands, and we all have smaller wrists.
