Hoping for new Apple Silicon A14X chip new models of iPad Pros... Maybe even a M1 chip variant? Maybe a Christmas surprise reveal?

Me too. Waiting for a14x. Do I need the power? Not really, but at that price, I’m crossing my fingers for better battery life, updated screen and a future proof processor. Probably hold onto this next one for 3-4 years.

Is $100 about the norm for discounts on the Pro 12.9? I've also been checking Apple's refurb for the past week or two and havent seen any of those come up yet.

Pros have been $749/$849 for 128GB/256GB on Amazon for a while, I'm gambling by waiting for one more week to see if they go down a little further!

Through Apple or the other retailers like Best Buy?
Apple. But like I said, sometimes the top tier new products are excluded.

However, I suggest you check last year's sales for the US (if you are in the US) to be sure and to get more details, because I'm not actually in the US. I live in Canada so I haven't followed it as closely as some.

Not as portable or easy to carry, but The new Macbook air M1 looks cheap by comparison. Especially if you plan on getting a Magic keyboard for your iPad.

I might get the Air instead of upgrading from the 2018 11" iPad Pro.

$929 is not lowest price for 12.9" iPad Pro. It was $899 plus free AirPods during the back to school event. I got tired of waiting on iPad Air 4 so I pulled the trigger not that deal.
