old iPhone batteries test better than they perform in the real world. I wouldn't buy an iphone not refurbished by Apple. Apple actually refurbishes the iPhone (including providing a new battery, checking for wear & tear etc), Woot just checks if it works.
when the Apple stores open again, you can get that battery replaced for $49. I did that in my first gen SE 64GB. It’s like a new phone again.

I bought one of these from woot. It was total garbage. Sides were scratched all the way to bare metal. The sim tray was missing the tab with the whole. Do not buy these from woot. I buy a lot of stuff from there, but this was unacceptable. They are refunding it though.View attachment 901722View attachment 901725
If you're willing to jump through a couple small hoops, you can get better deals through Visible Wireless (Verizon). Their phones will be in much better condition.
You'll need to port in a # (buy a pre-paid # off eBay), pay for 2 months of service ($25/mo if you join a party plan... plenty of open spots can be found on Reddit), and wait for the pre-paid Mastercard.
Here are a couple I found:
Pre-owned excellent condition 32GB iPhone 7 is $167 with $100 prepaid Mastercard and 2 months of service @ $25/mo makes it $117
New 64GB iPhone XR is $576 with $200 prepaid Mastercard and 2 months of service @ $25/mo makes it $426
Yes, I have bought plenty of refurbished stuff and never seen anything in this kind of condition. Most of the time you can’t tell it’s been refurbished. And usually refurbished stuff goes through a more thorough testing process.
dont buy from woot, they are simply liquidating the B- stock left over from amazon. Because with Prime if they send out phones with bad condition its free return.

What an embarrassment. I can’t believe any company would ship something in that poor of condition. I’m glad they’re refunding you, but that ‘screams milestones’ that a company would allow a Phone that looks that battered to leave their warehouse. No excuse for that garbage whatsoever.
