Yep - and every color in stock also.
No need to hunt around if looking for a Mini 6

Just pop over to Walmart.com
I'd rather buy from Amazon. If I want it right now and don't want to wait till tomorrow I'll go to the store but the one here doesn't really carry many iPads in stock. If you're lucky they'll have the base model iPad.

For the base model, absolutely, just like its predecessor.
Not going to happen. People for some reason don't think inflation should apply to Apple's prices. I would like gas for $1 a gallon but unfortunately I'm paying four times that. Inflation for electronics isn't that bad but it's not non existent. You can't expect Apple or any company to keep the same price on future models of a device. They try and do so for a while but the profits start getting less and they have to raise prices.

But here is the thing… other than for 5g (and hobbled, at that) there was no real need for this chip to be the A15. Keep it as a 4g phone with the A13, or give it the A14, and just make the battery larger. In this form factor, the A13 is like a 350hp engine in a subcompact car. The A15 is like a Ferrari engine in a subcompact. The energy savings of the A15 are nice, but not special when you run it at 5g. They’re still selling IPhone 11’s with A13’s as new, so they obviously don’t feel the need to have 5g in everything just yet, or worry about longevity. And here in Asia, it’s cheap and easy to have a 3rd party repair shop add a much larger battery to your SE2, albeit unsupported by Apple software % readout, but many do it. Just proves Apple could do it, too. Apple should have given the consumer what it wanted in this phone: more battery, and maybe slight CPU bump (or even just the battery) at the psychological sub-$400 price point. But no, they gave the carriers what they wanted instead, and had to boost price accordingly. It’s not the consumer’s fault if Apple releases a product that won’t sell, because Apple spec’d it poorly for max profit over user necessity.

I'm tempered; I have had my eye on one of these, but can anyone with one these comment on the strange scrolling effect some people complain about. It's the one thing keeping from buying.
So for me it looks more like a “slant” effect. Idk if it’s the way my eyes and brain are processing it or what, but it looks like the text slants like 15° in either direction depending on the direction I scroll.

But I also only notice it when scrolling fast–if I scroll at reading speed, nothing. I pretty much use mine for grading papers, reading, and web browsing, and haven’t been bothered by it at all. This includes doing all of the above in a car, on a train, and on a plane.

Anyone with experience with iPad mini & either Procreate or Affinity Designer can tell me how good of a deal this will be? I will use this only for two apps, Procreate/Affinity & Onenote. Thanks in advance.

While I can neither speak for Affinity nor Onenote, I do use Procreate, Notes and Sketches, near daily, on my 256 wifi. Of the five iPads I've owned (none of them Pros, fwiw) it is hands down my fav iPad to date. And yes, I have seen the jelly scroll issue that for some is a deal breaker. For me, a total non-issue. YMMV.

I do a lot of drawing, doodling, sketching and note taking with a pen (or pencil) in Field Notes. I'm a Creative Director by trade, and I need to work pretty fast. My pen + notepad are integral in my workflow, allowing me to quickly work through ideas ahead of any execution or pixel pushing. The mini's smaller footprint + Pencil had peaked my interest for a while - curious what digitizing that analogue aspect of my workflow would yield - not at all convinced it would work for me. Pretty much the moment I put Pencil 2 to mini's screen, I was blown away. Within a few days, that config had fully replaced my trusty pen & paper.

The real game changer here has been Pencil 2. It's ushered in a completely new (to me) way of working. Like many, I came up on the mouse as my input device of choice. Once that '07 iPhone dropped, it was clear that touch was the future. So when Apple debuted the Magic Trackpad in '10, I made the conscious decision to move exclusively to trackpad. And while there was definitely a learning and comfort curve, I never looked back. Been doing all of my design work on a MBP since. Insert Pencil 2. For me, it was a return to my analogue roots: where ideas move from brain to arm to hand to pencil to paper was restored. That flow was something I was losing and Pencil 2 has brought it back with even more power and flexibility than ever. As one basic example: I can quickly sketch and work through ideas and concepts from virtually anywhere with Pencil 2 + mini 6 and then once back in my studio, all of that scribbling is immediately available on my MBP. It has evolved and rejuvenate day workflow.

While I have known about Procreate for years, it wasn't until my mini that I jumped in. And wow - they couldn't have picked a more appropriate name. It is way more of a professional creative tool than I thought possible. Super robust. Love that it allows users customize aspects like dimensions and resolution for any new document as well as export to nearly any file type imaginable. The on-board brush library is killer and the real treat is the brush creation community. It FULLY allows one to create vector and raster files with a more natural pencil-to-screen motion - which I am totally digging. Now I'd be remiss if I didn't high five Procreate for NOT going the horrid subscription route. The one-time fee is way better, IMHO. Anyway...

Notes is surprisingly robust for note taking. I probably use that app the most. In meetings, it's my note pad. On the go, my sketch & idea pad. And the availability of Notes across my Apple ecosystem has proven such a powerful feature.

You made the determination of what everyone needed or what you needed?

Apple should have given the consumer what it wanted in this phone: more battery, and maybe slight CPU bump (or even just the battery) at the psychological sub-$400 price point.
Again I think you're thinking that Apple is making this thing specifically for you. "the consumer" isn't just you. You might not need or want a more powerful iPad but other people do. So many people complained that they were unhappy with this one because they wanted an even higher end mini similar to the iPad Pro. There would have been ten times the complaints if Apple decided to use a two year old chip in this thing. I do understand that perhaps there's a market for a more affordable version of the iPad mini but this isn't it. The mini was always a smaller version of the higher end iPad. Perhaps what you want is a smaller version of the base model iPad. I can see Apple putting something out there for under $300. I totally understand you feel this thing isn't right for you and it might not be. Apple tried to make a product that will appeal to the largest group of people.

But no, they gave the carriers what they wanted instead, and had to boost price accordingly.
Sure carriers want to push 5G but people want it too. It's a feature people look for when buying a cellular tablet. Again this is something that if they didn't include many people would be upset about. Most people will get the WiFi version because you can just run it from your phone's hotspot if needed.

It’s not the consumer’s fault if Apple releases a product that won’t sell, because Apple spec’d it poorly for max profit over user necessity.
What product has Apple released that won't sell? It's not the iPad mini because I haven't seen anywhere that said they aren't selling.

Sigh… I truly like the size and design of the Mini 6, I want to love it so badly.
I’ve had two of them now, (bought used, like new) and sold both of them.
The screen is unbearable. The reason is I have an 11” iPad Pro and an iPhone 13 Pro, both of which have ProMotion. Once you go to 120 hz, there’s no going back. The 60 hz jelly scroll on the Mini 6 is untenable next to my other devices, it truly feels bogged down and laggy.
