Good luck selling those. Poor resellers left with inventory. Literally poor, in some cases.

BTW, this is why the new and old ones look the same. Granny Myrna walking into a MediaMarkt to buy a 2020 Macbook Air would be delighted to see lower prices.

Edit: just looked at my favourite online store. They're trying to sell the Intel ones at higher price (1249 vs 1139 for 8/256 GB). The models are nicely scrambled on the page, all of them saying 2020, the processor only mentioned in the description. Thoughts and prayers, guys.
And that's your favourite online store? 😆

And when people get M1 to working from home and came to the realization that it can do only one external monitor...that will be a good surprise.

why all the extreme hate here?

But who is going to buy those? probably someone living in a cave ? 🙂 😀
I can think of a few different people:

1. Average users that don't have idea what Intel vs M1 even means.
2. People that still need to run Windows on their Macs.
3. Developers with aging Macs that need a newer Intel Machine for testing their apps until Intel Macs stop being supported.

The M1 is a beast. Apple really did THAT. I’ve been using my MBP M1 and it’s outstanding. It’s one of those things you have to experience to get it.

People on this forum often forget the real world. Most people buying a Mac won't have a clue about Apple Silicon and M1 etc. They will go to the shiny Apple Store / Authorised Reseller, see a "nice Mac" with 15 % off, snap it up, and go home well-pleased with the deal and the product. They will sell their inventory easily enough.
Then it would be a crime for the Apple store employees not to inform the customer of what he or she is buying.

There’s absolutely no reason whatsoever to buy one of these. The M1 with no fan is way better than the 10th gen Intel with that joke of a cooling system they have. I bought one for my sister and it’s really crummy performance wise.

Fan is not important to me as the AS is so much more efficient than those crummy, inefficient, hot running, throtting down, Intel chips.

Glad to see the M1 Air is so much more advanced without a fan - just like Apple was ahead of their game in 2015 when I got their first fanless 12" rMB which is still a champ even after 5 years.

Absolutely do this. I can’t believe they are still wanting to give me $250 for my old 2015 retina MacBook 1.1GHz. I would trade it for an Air in a heart beat if I could but I gave it to my mom to use several months ago and I don’t think she wants to give it back lol 😆
That’s not bad!

Well I was considering this, but the 2020 m1 can’t power dual displays. What a massive letdown for me. Guess I’ll wait for m2
