Today we're tracking a pair of best-ever prices on the M1 Max and M1 Ultra Mac Studio from early 2022. Both of these deals can be found at B&H Photo, which is offering free two-day shipping to the contiguous United States.

Starting with the M1 Max/32GB RAM/512GB SSD Mac Studio, you can get this model for $1,799.00, down from $1,999.00. This is a match of the all-time low price seen on this version of the Mac Studio.

You can also get the M1 Ultra/64GB RAM/1TB SSD Mac Studio for $3,699.00, down from $3,999.00. This is another record low price on the 2022 Mac Studio, and right now we're only tracking this sale at B&H Photo.

Deals on the previous-generation Mac Studio have been somewhat rare this year, but we're now starting to see steep discounts appear in the wake of the new M2 Max and M2 Ultra models that were announced at WWDC 2023. Our full Deals Roundup has more information on the latest Apple-related sales and bargains.

Best ever? 🤣

Costco had them for less ($1,499.99 and $3,199.99 respectively) 1.5 months ago.

At this point I don't really feel like this is much of a discount, M2 Max is $200 more for a 20% gain. Also Costco had the base model M1 Max Studio for $1499 two weeks ago, so this isn't the lowest price...
Maybe they don't count because they're not an affiliate partner?

Costco regularly has much better deals that what MR tracks here, FWIW. You can almost always get Airpods Pro for $199 and Studio Display for $1350, for example.
Costco Mac deals are AFIK always base models. That does not matter with headphones, etc., but for Macs it likely places a buyer at lower RAM levels than are most appropriate. Beware.

No one is buying M2, because M3 is just around the corner, hence the discounts

M1 Ultra/64GB RAM/1TB SSD Mac Studio for $3,699.00,

If the PC industry hadn't consolidated and instead kept the same price/performance trajectory 1995-2010, specs like that would be $1000. Maybe even less.

Under Oligopoly, regular people suffer.
Have you ever heard of inflation and R & D costs?

I dropped a metaphorical dime on an M1 Max Studio with 64GB Ram, 2TB SSD, and 32-core GPU. Before the update, this would have cost around $3200, but I got it in the Apple Refurb store for $2606. Saved about $600.

Feel pretty good about this purchase, as I'm replacing my 2013 Mac Pro (12-core, 64GB, 1TB) which I bought used for $3000 in 2020. My policy since 2008 is to never, ever pay retail for Apple computers.

I wished it were but it is very unlikely we will see the first M3 Mac Studio this year … maybe spring ‘24 but that would not be “around the corner” 😊
