Sales for the iPad Pro that just launched last month are not quite as steep, but they're still solid $50 off discounts on a select few tablets, making them the lowest prices we've tracked so far. For the 2020 11-inch iPad Pro you'll find discounts on 256GB and 512GB Wi-Fi, and on the 2020 12.9-inch iPad Pro there is a sale on the 256GB Wi-Fi at Amazon.

Anyone willing to drop $699 on an iPad might as well pay the extra $100 and get the new one with the updates.

I hope those looking to pull the trigger on a 2018 version are at least savvy enough to go with an Apple refurb for an even bigger discount of $250. Having the full year warranty makes that a no-brainer.

I usually go Apple refurb and I never had any issues.

I'm wondering who is going to buy even discounted electronics with so many people out of work ?

If my local Best Buy had the silver 2018 1TB one in stock, I'd maybe get it. *I absolutely do not need it, but for some reason I kind of want it for the RAM (even though 4GB is still a lot) but because I despise the 2020 version, (and IF I wanted more RAM that 2018 1TB iPad is much more preferable.) lol

I’m guessing the people who are not out of work?

Though, people at work, might not be at work next month, since other people who buy their goods and services are out of work. That's kind of the domino effect that happens when so many people out of work which even causes people with work to stop buying things.

Most of the people at work are the ones buying goods and services. There has actually been a great deal of demand in recent weeks for electronic devices like computers and monitors because so many people are now working from home, as well as people buying tablets and televisions to entertain the family while maintaining social distancing by staying at home or conversing remotely.

Increased sales? They aren't losing money - just hoping to make up in volume by getting sales over competitors that don't discount. A tactic as old as time.

I never heard of discounts on day 1 release
