New discounts on the 2020 iPad Pro have appeared online this week, offering about $50 in savings on Amazon and other retailers. Since these iPad Pro models just launched last month, deeper discounts haven't yet appeared, but these are solid sales for anyone shopping for the latest iPad Pro.

To start, the 512GB Wi-Fi 11-inch iPad Pro is $1,043.94, down from $1,099.00. This $55 sale is the lowest we've seen so far on this model, and it's being sold by Expercom on Amazon. The iPad Pro is estimated to be delivered between May 4 and May 6, with the usual discounts for Prime members.

The 256GB model with Wi-Fi is also on sale at Tiger Direct, priced at $849.00, down from $899.00. This is another low price that's beating retailers like Amazon and B&H Photo. Tiger Direct is an Apple reseller that integrated with MacMall recently, providing solid discounts on iPads, Macs, and more.

If you're looking for a larger display, the 128GB cellular 12.9-inch iPad Pro from 2020 is on sale for $1,099.00, down from $1,149.00 on Amazon. This is the first time Amazon has discounted this model, and it's the best price available online this week.

Although it's slightly less of a discount, the 512GB Wi-Fi 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also on sale, priced at $1,264.96. Originally priced at $1,299.00, this $34 discount is still the best markdown you'll find among the major Apple resellers online right now.

I was pretty happy to have picked up 12.9” 256 GB Wi-Fi/Cellular from Best Buy for $1,062. It was open-box in excellent condition.

Hah, already? Probably should have just waited and released something worth upgrading to since we're already in the middle of an economic meltdown. They didn't really do much to entice buyers who weren't already swayed to purchase the last generation.

i figured we probably wouldn’t be getting another model until next year so i went and got one. hopefully the two extra gigs of RAM one extra core future-proof it just a little bit.
My regret may be in getting the base 128 gig option.

The 2018 models were a massive upgrade over the previous gen. If that wasn't enough to entice buyers, then those buyers weren't looking for a new iPad Pro.

It's more like Amazon and others are discovering silver iPads don't move as well as space gray iPads.

I have a feeling there will be many more price drops on these iPads as more and more people either don't have the money to spend or are too afraid to spend it. I expect $100 off or more by September.

I doubt there will be many more iPad ‘price drops‘, aside from Black Friday being a major one. What we will probably see, is longer extensions of sale prices for the iPads with the current discounts.

And regarding consumers money, they’ll save it, I don’t think anyone’s afraid to spend it, they just don’t have ‘tech’ on their mind in general given to spend money on V.S. other necessities.

I bought my 2018 12.9 a month before they announced the 2020 but don’t feel like I’m missing much other than RAM. I don’t do a lot of RAM intensive tasks but this iPad will also need to last me 3 years, which judging by the A12X out to do no problem.

Just bought a 2020 iPad Pro 11" 128GB on the Apple Store, IMO 6GB of RAM is the minimum on a device of that price, remember that 4GB is only 1GB more than the basic 10.2" iPad and the iPhone SE.

The March 2016 iPad Pro 9.7" had only 2GB of RAM, what can you do now in 2020 (only 4 years later) with that? IMO the 2018 iPad Pro will be semi-obsolete in 2022 due to the lack of RAM.

Is $664 for an "open box excellent certified" 2018 11 inch 64 gb iPad Pro a good deal? Comes to $720 after taxes. Sold my 2017 10.5 inch Pro to a friend for $350 (low, I know).

Not if they had a 2017 iPad Pro and don't upgrade all the time. This new version is 2018 iPad Pro+.

No....you could get a apple refurbished for $549.00 when it comes back into stock. $664.00 for an open box yeah for 2020 version but not 2018. I would spend bit more and you could get 2020 for $749.00 with 3 years of warranty from Costco.

Once again, Apple gets the "Pro" products with ridiculous minimal storage.
The iPad pro 12.9 should come with a minimum of 256.
Furthermore how they rip customers of with the storage upgrade is ridiculous.
12.9 128 - $999
12.9 512 - $1299
12.9 1TB- $1,500

a $500 dollar difference from the 128 to the 1tb is obscene. The best 1tb may cost $200 if so.

This sadly shows how out of touch Apple is with reality and much they want to rip off customers.

Yeah. For today’s apps it be be ok, but you want these devices future-proofed for a few years at least.
I also have the budget 2018 ipad that i love, but it crashes and closes apps because of lack of RAM. It might seem fine because it is not meant for intensive tasks, but browser and Youtube shouldn’t be the limitations that crashes or slows it to a halt.

Yep, but think of it this way, those with the money to spend on these expensive add-ons subsidize the price of basic model for everyone else.
(just kinda sarcastic)

4GB of RAM will be fine for more than just 2 more years. It should be fine until mid 2020s for light work.

Yeah, that was I meant by "semi-obsolete": a "Pro" device that will only be capable of light work!

But IMO you are very optimistic about the year it will happen: IMO the 2018 iPad Pro will be semi-obsolete in 2022, because in 2025 4GB will be nothing since the basic cheap iPad probably will have at least 6GB!

Yeah, my 2018 iPad 6th also has the same issues you said, plus this one issue here on the backlight of the screen:

I agreed, I have an early 2014 MBA that has only 4gb of ram and I use it for work (mainly mail, excel, adobe PDF, imessage & multi window on firefox) and it seems to handle these app pretty well. So for an iPP, 4 gb should still be good to go for the next couple years.

On the side note: I still have my iPad Air 1st gen (got it in 2014), which I believe has 1-2gb of ram, and I notice that it been giving me issuse of app crashing and laggy; which, i rarely use now... so upgrading to the 2020 iPP 128gb should be a huge leap and should be future proof for the next 5 years or so...

Yeah, it's expensive but at least we have plenty of options of storage to choose, I'd like to have the option to choose 2GB more RAM (total 8GB), I'd gladly pay $150 more for it!

Whaaaa? 😧😑
Face ID? Extremely easy to bend or even pre-bent? Price increase across the board of $150?
Sorry, which of these are massive upgrades?
