Uh, much faster processor, Face ID, complete redesign, better display, better speakers and they don’t have the white spot issue on the 10.5” pro. The 2018 models are clear upgrades over the 10.5” and old 12.9” models. Most would agree with that.

Did you watch a YouTube video and decide that the 2018/2020 models bend easily? That is completely overblown.

You don’t have to spend the money on one. Stick with an old model.

Just bought a 2020 iPad Pro 11" 128GB on the Apple Store, IMO 6GB of RAM is the minimum on a device of that price, remember that 4GB is only 1GB more than the basic 10.2" iPad and the iPhone SE.

The March 2016 iPad Pro 9.7" had only 2GB of RAM, what can you do now in 2020 (only 4 years later) with that? IMO the 2018 iPad Pro will be semi-obsolete in 2022 due to the lack of RAM.
That right there is the BIGGEST obstacle in me getting an iPad Pro right now. I just don't see the legs on those guys.

I'd personally get an MBAir today instead.

Apple is inching towards making me replace my Macs with an iPad Pro (like I thought I could on launch day 2010 and learned that I couldn't, the HARD way).

I really want to, but they're just not there yet. Hopefully it won't take ANOTHER 10 years.

I picked up the 11 Pro 256GB 2018 model from Best Buy brand new this month for $629.99 And I’m blown away with how much of an upgrade it is over my old iPad Air 2 Which was beginning to feel it’s age. I am not a RAM heavy user, so I think the pro will last me for a few years to come.

i figured we probably wouldn’t be getting another model until next year so i went and got one. hopefully the two extra gigs of RAM one extra core future-proof it just a little bit.
My regret may be in getting the base 128 gig option.
I also got the 128GB version, in my case because I guess this 6GB RAM model will be semi-obsolete in 2023 or 2024 due to the lack of RAM, so I didn't want to spend much money now on a device to use it only for three or four years!

If and when Apple release a 16GB RAM version, then I think it will be worth spending more money on it!

EDIT: problem will not be only lack of RAM, but the A12Z processor too, in October/2023 Apple is expected to launch the A17 chip, I think the A12Z will be ancient there!

Yeah same here. But i do think lack of RAM will be huge limiting factor in the next couple of years. More so than than the CPU in the short term.
I am also going to try and keep as much useless stuff off of it and start using an external SSD to store larger files.
