As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
I used the educational discount too, which amounted to getting the AppleCare+ for free.

"Lowest ever" always sounds so dramatic and deceptive. It may be true but still comes off as very click-baity, especially for a product that was only released a month ago.

How did AppleCare+ come free with education discount?

B&H has this since a couple of weeks.

I used the "student discount" online to get $200 off. It's all good.

I had used the student discount too when I was purchasing my 13" MacBook Pro (got free Beats headphones too). Anyone can really just claim to be a student and take advantage huh?

It was this price last week too on Amazon. I ended up getting Best Buy to price match it and walked out the door in hand, for the same price. I payed using Chase Pay which should give me some bonus cash back then too. Just bummed I don't get any dang BB reward points on it!

For those commenting about using the student discount (from Apple), you are paying $50 more for this configuration and you also have to pay sales tax.

I believe only 11 states don't have taxes collected by Amazon, 5 of which simply don't have a sales tax. So the tax argument isn't that good anymore for the majority.

Yes, this is true of Amazon and B&H. But I believe that Adorama is still tax-free for most people.

The $2549 price for the space gray MacBook Pro is correct, but that's not the case for the silver colored one. For some reason, only the space gray machine is seeing the heaviest discounts.

I read (here on Macrumors) that people are returning it because of the Catalina Crisis. Yikes.

In my case, I can say that definitely almost happened. I held off buying a new machine for so long waiting for that lousy butterfly keyboard to go away, and when that happened the machine came with Catalina. Just can't win...
