B&H Photo is discounting the 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro to a new low price today. You can get the 2.3 GHz 8-Core model with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD for $2,199.00, down from $2,799.00. This was one of Apple's base configurations of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and at this price it's only available in Space Gray.

At $600 off, B&H Photo's sale is currently the best price for this configuration of the 15-inch MacBook Pro available online, and it comes in $100 below the previous best price we tracked for this model. The new sale will last through tomorrow, December 20 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

This notebook also has a 2880 x 1800 Retina Display, Apple T2 chip with "Hey Siri" functionality, a Touch Bar with Touch ID, and more. Head to our full Deals Roundup to shop for even more discounts on Apple products and related accessories.

Update 7:28 p.m.: Amazon is now matching B&H's pricing, knocking $600 off the original price of this model to bring it down to $2199.

“$600 off” makes it sound like a good deal, but it isn’t. It’s $2200 with 512/16, and you can get the new 16” with 512/16 for $2400 (plus it goes on sale). The change in base storage (from 256 to 512) means these older models need heavy discounts just to be in line with what is now a standard configuration.

who would want that dreadful keyboard anyway?

junk hardware. Completely agree with your keyboard comment. Tim can stuff it along with his dongles.

really hoping the new MacBooks come out soon with new keyboards and hopefully some useful ports :S I’m wishing too much for the last one because Timmy loves his dongle revenue

I wonder how much I can sell my base 8-core 2019 vega 20 with these common discounts.

This is so true. Unless it was significantly cheaper than the newer model it’s not worth it. The $600 claim is a bit misleading. The $200 reality isn’t significantly cheaper it’s definitely not worth it

The 16" with 16GB/512gb is the exact same $2199 on Amazon today, and has a functional keyboard. This is no deal.
To be fair, the $2199 16” MBP is an i7 model whereas the one on sale here is an i9. Although due to the poor cooling of the 15” there won’t be much improvement upgrading from i7 to i9. Also the speaker and the keyboard are much better in the new 16” so I agree that this is not a deal at all

After the release of “finally more end-user friendly” 16” mbp, there is simply no need to go for butterfly keyboard. They will be devaluated quickly on the 2nd hand market.

True statement. And 15" 8core CPU scores faster than 16" i7 despite weaker thermals (15" 2019 thermals are not poor/bad - I disagree with you, but 16" is better of course).
16" is coming with much stronger dGPU however which is more impactful in most use cases.
