Walmart today has a discount on Apple's brand new 10.2-inch iPad, discounting the 64GB Wi-Fi model to $299.00, down from $329.00. This sale is available in Space Gray and Silver, and the iPad can be pre-ordered today with a September 29 shipping estimate.

At $30 off, this sale matches Apple's education pricing on the 10.2-inch iPad, and represents the new lowest price on this model. At this time, we're not tracking any deals on the 256GB Wi-Fi model at Walmart, although you can save $29 on this model at Expercom.

The 2021 iPad features an A13 Bionic chip with up to 20 percent faster performance than the previous generation, a True Tone display, an upgraded 12-megapixel ultra-wide front camera, and more. The iPad officially launches on September 24.

Great price. This iPad is more than capable for a ton of people, even if it isn’t the latest hardware.

I want to recommend this thing but that original Air form factor was such a chonky bugger, and that non-lamintaed display just looks so outdated now.
I was really holding out hope that Apple would move to the much improved Air 2 formfactor with laminated screen for this generation, but clearly that was just a bridge too far for them.

Great value!

For the average consumer, M1 MBA on sale $849 (Amazon) plus base iPad for $299 are a great combo. Most people don’t need much more, and they can take advantage of seamlessly moving between devices within the Apple ecosystem at a reasonable price. If I were a college student, this is the way I would go. Side Car and Universal Control give you a portable second screen for working on those term papers and reports.

When these things are on sale for less than $300, they are an incredible value. They seem to not really fit with the rest of the iPad lineup, I strongly suspect they're kept around to make it hard for a low-end tablet to make headway in the market. I use these just for web browsing and reading ebooks. They're also great for kids on car trips, cheap enough you don't have to really worry about them getting broken. I'd kind of like an iPad Air, or the 12.9 inch pro, but when these are so cheap, it's hard to pull the trigger on an upgrade.

Same, at this price I prefer to just buy one of these every year. I keep the latest one on my desk and rotate them down to my nightstand, the tables next to the sofa, the kitchen counter, etc...

whoa! I was expecting the 9th Gen iPad to have a sale, but not so quickly.

I had already convinced myself that I don't need a full-size iPad anymore.... and even though I don't NEED one, it is pretty irresistible at this price... THANKS WALMART! :D

Why? If you've got a MacBook Air, you don't need an iPad.

And you can get an external monitor for $100. Sidecar is a cute party trick, but not really very useful.

Eh spend the full $300 you would have on the iPad on a 4K monitor, once you get used to a Retina display I can't use a standard DPI monitor anymore, everything is fuzzy

Should be some good deals online for previous generation iPad. Got my last one w cellular for $115. Maybe it’s time for an updated model.

I have used side car numerous times on the go, and the extra screen is very handy. Also, you have an iPad that can be used as a stand alone device. Great for reading. Great for markups. Great for vacation and travel. Great value at $299 IMHO.
