Sorry...this has probably been answered somewhere along the line...

Didn't know about the deauthorization rule before letting go of 2 PCs.
We have 3 Macs using one iTune account. I want to be able to control iTune purchases, so I control log-ins to the iTune account.
Each Mac contains different libraries for different family members.

I am guessing that the iTune account itself has nothing to do with a Mac's ability to access that account...

Question: if I utilize the deauthorize-5-computers-option, will I lose all of those libraries?

No, you wont. All that'll happen is next time you try to play a iTunes-bought song it'll ask you to reauthorize that computer
