Currently, the battery capacity on my iPhone 6 is at 84%. I've disabled the "Performance Management" setting that throttles the phone.

Besides battery life, would my phone's overall performance be any different with a brand new battery vs. just disabling the "Performance Management" setting? If not, I think I'd just upgrade since my phone still seems quite slow even with the "Performance Management" setting turned off.

Your phone may speed up if you perform a factory reset.

I have a 6s and I intend to replace the battery as I intend to keep it did a while.

Replacing the battery will also increase the resale value.

Just a reminder..... Replace the battery before the end of the year while the price is still only $29.00 here in the US. I don't know if the price is the same in Canada?

At 84%, the battery is almost at the beginning of the end of it's useful life. The normal threshold is 80% but in this case, with Apple offering inexpensive battery replacements, I would have it done before the end of the year.

I have just sent two three year old iPhone 6s Plus units back to Apple for battery replacement and highly recommend it. I waited until the batteries declined to 80%, not realizing that the current pricing is irrespective of battery health. The charge of $29 plus S/H and tax is extremely reasonable.

Turnaround is remarkable. I dropped the phones off at the local UPS store yesterday afternoon, early enough for the afternoon pickup. The shipment to Apple's facility is by next-day air, and they received both phones sometime this morning. By mid afternoon the phones have both had the replacement completed and are being prepared for shipment back to me. I expect to receive them first thing next week.

My wife and I both upgraded to iPhone Xs Max phones and couldn't be happier. We'll be passing these 6s Plus phones down to others in the family and with new batteries they'll be good as new.
