I very regularly rip my CD's to MP3's. Problem is often this results in filenames with track1.mp3, track2.mp3 etc without any MP3 info. On pc, I always used Mp3Tag to fix this. What programs are good (and free) for Mac?

iTunes gets said information automatically. You can apply it in iTunes, Advanced, Get CD Track Names.
Yeah I know but I have a pretty large collection of MP3's that still need tagging. On pc, the program I used was great to collect any missing information.

Im glad you brought this one up. I too am looking for a decent replacement for MP3 Tag and have no objection to paying if it works, so I also welcome all your recommendations.

If you have used tag&rename, then you are probably going to be disappointed with the offerings on the Mac side. At least I have. This program along with a few more are the only reasons I bought vmware and have windows on my machine.
One that I have used that does an ok job is XLD. But that is so far has only done it for me if I am ripping not so much for adding info in after the fact.

Not as yet, I was hoping a few more would come to light enabling me to make a better choice. As I am willing to purchase, I wanted to ensure my money went on the right product. 😉
