iPhone 17 Pro Max deciding between air 2 and 18 pro

Deciding between the iphone air 2 or 18 pro....i like the S upgrade this year but I am unsure which to get since I like the concepts of both, thin and light air 2 and a heavyweight all in one phone like the 18 pro

If the air 2 gets an ultrawide lens, better speakers (hopefully), vapour chamber, smaller dynamic island then whats the differentiating factor between the iphone 18/17 and the air 2 ? or should I just keep the iphone 18 until the iphone 21 (another S year upgrade)

I know that during the holidays, apple has extended returns i think from december until janruary or february not sure about that

Its always a good advice to wait and see what the final product really looks like.

I really doubt they can physically put in all your mentioned stuff in the air without making it a new plus model

Best wait and see what they bring to the table, and if you can wait until next year for the Air 2!

I absolutely love my Air, it really is an amazing device.

Apple will have to be careful with what they add to the next gen Air, the weight will jump up with all the things you’ve mentioned.

I’m sure there’ll be plenty of leaks coming up… I’ll be watching with interest.

If I’m not mistaken the Air 2 is only meant to land early next year according to rumours…take it all with a pinch of salt.

If the 18 Pro comes first get that and then sell it when the Air 2 lands IF the final Air 2 is what you are hoping it will be.

The Air 2 is currently scheduled for Apple’s Spring release along with the iPhone 18. I will be getting the Air 2 as soon as preordering is available for this device. As for the 18 Pro, if Dark Cherry is available based on rumors, I will be ordering this device most likely in the first week of December. Just waiting to see what is said about the new iPhones and actual pricing for them.

I'm having this exact same internal debate. I still absolutely adore the air, I see no reason to settle for the Pro and the ugliness/heaviness of it I just can't get past no matter how hard I try, I have the 17 PM for work; and at the end of the day putting that phone down and picking up my air is heavenly! The only thing that might change my mind is the cherry red color or whatever they are calling it, but it's pretty iffy at this point so I'm probably going to hold out for the next air in the spring, unless they ruin it by adding things that end up increasing the weight, thus defeating it's purpose....then I'll just hold onto my current air and maybe spend the money on the AirPods Max 2.
