decision and choices... advice?

gotta a problem running through my mind

i live in canada thats the first thing that i should say and going to be travelling to new york on january 5th...
im going to be starting at university next year and as of now the MBP is absolutely anything that i need for university and everyday use

(p.s. im quite a techy 😛)

but as we all know macworld is on jan15th

im not to fussy about the new rumoured ultra portable laptop i like to have a cd drive so unless its absolutely insane im pretty sure its out of the question

i guess the problem is there is no gaurantee that there will be a MBP update

in canada the current MPB is about 200$ more and with the canadian dollar stronger than the US its even cheaper
and since im going to be in NY for more than a week i wouldnt have to pay tax or customs on it...
like a major advantage

however... macworld will hold some suprises
my friend said he'd kill me if i got MBP before macworld
and im down for the wait...

i dunno hit me with some advice

i guess the real question is "am i insane enough to buy a MBP right before macworld?"

I just picked up a MBP like 3 or 4 days ago and I love it. No point in waiting. It will be a speed bump if anything. They may not update anything at all.
One thing I could suggest is that you take a look at the Macbook. It sounds like it more than covers what you would need it for.

i have a laptop right now... acer
not that amazing but it gets the job done

ive looked at the macbook
but doesnt appeal to me in the way MBP does

i do gaming
graphics/animations
website building
video stuff
photos

couple of my classmaes have macbook and have had many upgrades on them
just seems like MBP is the way to go for me

and regarding getting it tomorrow
because its not really necessary right now... thats why the new york - macworld scenario comes in

Well gaming alone throws the Macbook out of the question 🙂 If you get it cheaper in the States, then I would wait until the trip and visit one of the super stores in NY.
