Decisions

I've been carrying two phones for years. A work issued iPhone and my personal Android phone. Preferring the native Google/Android experience I've upgraded yearly from Nexus through Pixel models just for fun and the experience. Also within that timeframe I tried various Samsungs and currently enjoy an S25 Ultra. With both platforms well matured I still prefer Android over iOS for its enhanced functionality.

I have avoided the temptation of an Apple Watch or any other, as I have a passion for analog wristwatches that I am not interested in giving up.

That said I'm thoroughly committed to macOS and find my 13” M1 MacBook Air nicely portable and my 16” M2 MacBook Pro an ideal main computer for my workflow. A long time Apple customer I appreciate what they've done although I find their "Apple knows best" philosophy a bit much.
 
A bit off topic but I have a question about the A55, will a smart tag 2 work with this phone as it does not have the UWB chip in it

This is a hard decision of which one to go with and I can’t decide so I might have to sell one of the phones to make it a permanent solution.

This is a first world problem but it’s hard.

I don't understand why this is an issue if you already have an iPad and an Apple Watch. Bite the bullet and get a Mac as well as a pair of AirPods, too. They all work seamlessly together now.

The last thing I want us any kind of traditional computer whether it's a windows or mac machine.
I use a computer for work from 9 to 5 and it's the last thjng I want to use when I am on my downtime.

I already own airpods and use them with my iPad.
 
From time to time, I have been quite tempted to switch over to Android because of how lackluster iOS and the iPhone as a device have been year over year. Do they still make Android phones with SD card slots? or was that a pre-2020 thing?

The Samsung Ultra (whatever they ended up folding the Note line into, RIP) and the Pixels 6-8 seemed really cool imo, always wanted to try them out.

My wife and I are getting out of the Apple Watch phase, they are just becoming too much of a hassle to have to charge almost every 12hrs just for something that at the very least needs to just be able to tell time accurately and on demand. My Casio does that without needing to be charged so i guess that's one chain broken in the Apple anchor lol

My Galaxy A55 has an SD card in it, the phone itself has 128gb and I have a 512 card in it to handle all my media, music and family photos which I have quite a fair amount.

Don't think any of the S range have these slots anymore

I agree on your thinking about the apple watch as I have gave up on mine and went back to using traditional mechanical watches as I have a decent collection of them, some of them date back to 1974 and all work perfect and keep good time. They dont need charging and don't need software updates.

I switched from an apple watch to a Garmin as it has the health features, weather and basic notifications which are easier to dismiss than they are on the apple watch so less intrusive\distracting. Plus I just switched back to my pixel so there's that 😂

Which ecosystem are you most invested in? Do you have decades of apps bought on iOS or Android?

I have apps and media bought on both but not many so I don't care which system I use really..
I downloaded all my purchased music from iTunes and have all of it in hard drives and sd cards in my samsung phone.

Sounds like an impressive collection of mechanical watches.

I have been a collector when I could afford to do so.

I likewise have given up on smartwatches. Battery life is a huge problem with them. There are some features I like and am simultaneously annoyed with.

Nothing beats a dumb watch when you just want to know what time it is!! Lol
 
One thing that is really getting on my nerves with this Samsung phone is cookie pop ups. How in gods name do I stop these as it really making me doubt my decision about switching.

On iOS is use hush and wipr apps so is there anything like that for oneui.

Use Firefox browser as you can add many extensions
