Declining an incoming call

When my screen is not off and a call comes in I have the simple and easy one button option to DECLINE it. When the phone is in sleep mode (screen off) and a call comes in there is no DECLINE option just a bunch of "leave message" choices which requires first hitting the MESSAGE button then selecting a message to leave (which I don't understand anyway on how they work).

Is there a SIMPLE 1 TOUCH method to just decline a call and send it to voicemail when the screen is off?

+1 on this. I use the top bottom to ignore the phone call

This, or you can hit one of the volume buttons which will silence the ringer or stop the vibration alert.

That was easy! Thanks everyone! I knew there had to be a simpler way.

Edit: Just tried it. Actually that seems two require 2 presses. First one stops the phone ringing and the second press sends the call to VM.

It's to give you a choice. If you press it only once it will ring until voicemail on the other end so the other person does not know you declined the call. I prefer to press it only once.
