Your battery capacity is currently more than it originally was. I'm not sure how that's possible, but you shouldn't be complaining.

I wonder if the MacBook will ever get the non-replaceable battery that the MBP 17" has? It seems like if it offers such increased capacity, I wouldn't mind similar treatment.

im just waiting for the phosphate Li-ion batteries. it could improve battery life by 50-60%. so im excited for that.

baha who cares about that! im waiting for the batteries to come out that take 10seconds to charge!! (read about it on a linux news page somewhere)

😱 That would be amazing technology. 10 sec charge, I'm impressed with the 3 or so hours my 17" UMBP charges in now and getting a fairly consistant 5 t 6 hours during the work day with it. That would just change everything. 🙂

oh tell me about it! that would be amazing. im guessing it was only for smaller batteries (i.e. AA, or AAA, C, D etc) - the article didnt specify. if they could put that technology into laptop batteries though, i imagine a charge would take 10-15mins 🙂🙂

i can only wonder what the advertising would be..

"charges to 80% capacity in 2 minutes! 100% capacity and ready to use in 10 minutes!"

Is it possible to rejuvenate a powerbook battery by putting in the freezer for a day or two after its discharged, and charging it up once it's completely thawed?

I picked up a secondhand battery from a mac dealer, and put it in the freezer last night. I only wished I had tried coconut battery before I put it in; but it didn't appear to take a charge when I got it.

Think I'm going to let it set for at least a day or two before I thaw it. I'll let y'all know how it goes. If nothing else, I can use it as a dummy in my case when I know I'll be using ac power on my unit.

So far, so good....

Pulled one of the used powermac batteries out of the freezer after 48 hours, and put it in the powerbook after a thaw. Neglected to do coconut battery before the chill (dang it)but here it is after the charge

I don't know if you can trust coconut battery, mine say I have 2 mAh more than when it was new!

i guess it would be nice to have a battery that charges in 10 seconds or even 10 mins, but i still think 20hrs of battery life would be pretty awesome.

yea or both would be perfect. 10 minutes to charge a 20 hour battery!!! how awsome would that be. id pay big money for that.

as would i!! i think in the next 4-5 years we may see something pretty close to that. Battery University isnt to optimistic about it but other sites are saying that big break thrus are coming.

It's holding a charge, so that says something. WOOT! I have FOUR batteries for my powerbook! I am literally going mad with power!!!
