Got this today, in blue, and wanted to share some pics/thoughts.
First of all, I want to point out some great customer service from Decoded. I ordered the case quite a while back in early Feb. After a few weeks, I realized I hadn’t received it yet, and the tracking info they sent me hadn’t moved. I emailed them, and that night received an email back from them that they assumed the case was lost, and were Fedexing me a new one. Fast forward a few days (it was from EU to US, so took a few days to get here), and it’s finally in hand.
The case looks great, and is the shade of blue that I wished Apple had given us instead of the Baltic blue. Appears to fit well. There is a lip on the screen side, and also appears to provide some depth on the other side to protect the cameras (See pics below). Buttons feel good, similar to the apple case.
The leather, according to decoded is “premium full-grain leather from the leather masters at ECCO Leather”. I don’t know what that means, but it feels and smells nice. Time will tell how it ages.
I don’t love the logo, but, it is not super conspicuous, and the D is one of my initials, so I’ll live with it.
This case is supposed to include MagSafe. However, I don’t have any MagSafe accessories to test it with, and I did not get the MagSafe animation when putting the phone in the case. Is there any other way to confirm the MagSafe? On edit: confirmed by placing neodymium magnet on case and getting some stick. Tried with both original apple case and decoded case and the felt strength of the magnet seemed about equal.
