Have some questons regarding Deep Fusion here:

1) How do I know when it is activated in 13.2?

2) Does it work when HDR is enabled?
(Seem to be working)

3) Does it work with 1x only, or 0,5x and 2x as well?

4) Does it work in Portrait Mode?
(Seem to be working)

5) Does it work when Smart HDR is enabled?

6) What does small round mark on some pictures mean (Please see cropped picture enclosed)? Does it mean that the picture was taken with Deep Fusion?

(In my opinion it shows that something is beeing processed after image has been tajen with multiple exposures (Smart HDR/DF)). The mark goes away after some time.

The round thing seems to go away after some time for some pictures, and it appeared in one of my Smart HDR photos as well. Maybe it means that the image was taken with different exposures and beeing processed...?

I think that I noticed in some YouTube video it was told - it a picture is taken with DF - you can notice that it “jumps/shifts” right after beeing taken as it is being processed.

Noticed one more strange thing - I cannot really share (Preliminary opinion) a DF image. I mean, I can share it but it reverts to some ‘basic version’. Also, if I try to take a screenshot, the image in screenshot looks quite worse compared to the DF version (not zoomed in).

I tried to e-mail the image - When I view attachment - it looks worse, when I save the image back to camera roll - it is fine again and identical to the original DF version. Importing image to Lightroom results in loosing some quality as well...Strange.

Here’s what I figured out so far

1) How do I know when it is activated in 13.2?
A: You don’t. Apple mentioned on The Verge that they want it to be transparent.

2) Does it work when HDR is enabled?
A: Yes, in the sense that you can leave it enabled, but your picture will either use smart hdr ou deep fusion. It won’t do both things at the same time.

3) Does it work with 1x only, or 0,5x and 2x as well?
A: 1x and 2x.

4) Does it work in Portrait Mode?
A: No.

5) Does it work when Smart HDR is enabled?
A: There’s no hdr and smart hdr as 2 separate things.

6) What does small round mark on some pictures mean (Please see cropped picture enclosed)? Does it mean that the picture was taken with Deep Fusion?
A: It doesn’t mean it was taken with deep fusion, but I’m not sure what it does mean. I get something similar when my phone is showing me a low quality preview of a photo that’s in iCloud, and the round mark acts like a loading icon.

Maybe macrumors could write an in depth article about all new possibilities with these cameras and how they work or don't work with Night Mode and Deep Fusion.

Seem to be working for me in Portrait mode (At least if I do a screenshot, than it acts in the same way as with normal photo in DF = resulting in lower quality image (not zoomed). See my post above regarding sharing DF images.
Any reference to source confirming it does not work?

Well, HDR is Auto/On by default, while Smart HDR is disabled in settings (See the attachment)

Does capture outside the frame option has to be turned off?
Yes, but you can leave it on for videos.

I was pretty sure I had read somewhere that it wouldn’t work with portrait mode, but I can’t find this anymore, so maybe you’re right.

Regarding HDR, my understanding is that smart hdr replaced the old HDR toggle entirely. If smart hdr is off you don’t get any hdr.
